If you look on the card itself, you should be able to see a tab or slider you can move, that will switch write protection on & off.

The ive used many fans such as the interloper, and they all were faulty, didnt work very well, and some were extremly loud.
The pelican, although, is what I us now, and I have yet to find anything wrong with it, the looks are kinda weird but its worth it, also rememberto turn the fan on/off at the right times, because its powered by usb, and theres power feeding through it constantly while its turned on.
