Where is the filter on this dehumidifier. Mod# ad75ust

To locate the filter: Shut unit off. Remove "bucket". You should find a "tab" at top of where bucket goes in middle front of unit. Pull down to remove tab of Filter. Clean thoroughly and dry Filter before re installation. Visually inspect the coils and condenser while filter is out ( a flashlight helps). If it looks slightly dusty or like covered in felt, then it would be wise to remove front and rear covers and give the coils and condenser a thorough cleaning.

My dehumidifer runs but no water is being pulled out

Might be a dirty coil and condenser.
I have had a AD75UST0 WHIRLPOOL Dehumidifier for several years. If it actually still runs, I would suggest you take off covers and give the coils a good thorough cleaning. Otherwise the units are not designed to be serviceable aka - "disposable small appliance". if you do dispose of it take it to a qualified recycle organization for Freon products. Shut unit off. Remove "bucket". You should find a "tab" at top of where bucket goes in middle front of unit. Pull down to remove tab of Filter. Clean thoroughly and dry Filter before re installation. Visually inspect the coils and condenser while filter is out ( a flashlight helps). Whirlpool Basement Dehumidifer is freezing up about l/3 from the bottom. Compressor will not turn off. Coils were cleaned and cleaned fan is running freely. Sitting in well ventilated area and temp...

IIt may very well be that the the air intake filter needs to be removed and cleaned. But, before doing this, turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Allow the unit to completely thaw, before removing the filter.Never operate the unit without the filter in place, As this could damage the unit.

Hope this helps you & thanks for choosing FixYa.

Hi,

There are many reasons why a dehumidifier will not work or collect water.

Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong with their dehumidifier

My whirlpool dehumidifier fan runs, but no water is being taken out of the air; cleaned the filter and still no change; dehumidifier was purchased in August 2008.

Hello,

First, make sure the humidistat isn't set too high by adjusting it to the lowest humidity setting and running it again. Next, test the dehumidifier by placing it in a closed bathroom with a hot shower running. If you don't see water collecting in the unit after several minutes, turn the unit off and clean all dehumidifier filters and coils. If, after adjusting the settings and cleaning the unit, you still don't see water collecting, you may have a refrigeration issue. This situation will have to be addressed by a qualified technician.

Take care.

If the filter is dirty it can block air flow. Try washing it if it's removable.
