Some phone services offer protection from nuisance calls. Spectrum has in play a system where you just get one ring from such callers and their number does not even appear in calls missed. But you have to activate the service by calling them. You can request the caller put you on a do not call list but that doesn't stop other nuisance callers.
That can be difficult, since even if the phone itself or your carrier has call blocking capabilities, most of the nuisance callers have many different numbers that they can use to call from, and will simply change to another one if you block one. The best solution is to have Caller ID, and any call that blocks their number, or any number that you don't recognize or expect a call from, simply don't answer it. That is the most effective way to stop the calls from coming, since they will usually move on if they receive no response.
In iOS 7, there is an update that allows you to 'Block the Caller' this should block Text Messages and Calls from that number. If that does not work, you can reach out to Law Enforcement about the harassment, or your Cell Phone carrier to block that number all together... Best of luck with that.
Yes. You simply ring your service provider and ask them to block, that particular callers number, and you will never be bothered again. You may have to indicate why you wish this done, however unless asked, you don't need to elaborate, unless you want to.
