You will need the service manual to locate the blown resistors and or the circuit protectors in this TV set. Hello, the good thing is that the led flashing is a blinking fault signal, the blinking means there's a faulty circuit. here's what you may want to do if your semi electronically inclined find a online service manual site, and at times it is possible to try a free manual search for your specific model,. the amount of times the light blinks will determine the faulty board. exchanging that board or repairing the faulty components it the tricky part. working at high heat levels and for extended periods of time may overheat and damage internal circuits and this is typical with these flat screens. but different manufacturers have different blink codes so it's a model specific manual you will need for this repair, and as in the other previous answers you may want to consider shipping/part cost/ before you go about servicing it. If you can handle this type of repair check auction sites for the boards it is way cheaper than service center pricess for boards, hope this helps.. have a great day.

somethings wrong with the high voltage circuits and its not allowing the tv to work -to protect you from xrays!

I would send it to a professional repair man or splash out and buy an LED or plasma screen. Don't fiddle with it yourself as the voltages concerned are very dangerous

Reset will not cure a convergence problem.

this model (ws-65711) uses a single convergence chip located on the middle circuit board (see photo).

If convergence is skewed and will not adjust in customer menu the chip needs to be replaced.

You don't need to replace the whole board, regardless of which board it may be mounted on. The STK IC convergence chips alone are all that need to be replaced. You can order them from a number of different online sites. You can try Alibaba.com. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can call in a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

I located the board at PTS Electronics. Mine was the digital convergence board.
A little pricey but did the trick. Recommend that if you do not know how to drain off the capacitors. Let theTV sit unplugged for 3 to 5 days to drain them down below a possible fatal shock level.
Recommend taking good digital photos for your reinstall if you have no schematics or real electronic experience. Priceless advise !!
Do not touch any settings to try and adjust without knowing the original factory settings. It will get expensive to have a tech readjust. Lots of time to adjust and the tech knows you were there. $$$$

you don't need a convergence board the one you have could be fix the only problem is the alignment is not that easy and won't cost $ 500 unless you live in alaska and worth fixing it today you just get bad set made in chi???

Both manuals are available at http://www.servicemanuals.net/ I dont know where you tryed before to get a manual for these sets but both modela are available online at like 20 differant spots..
