I accidently hit the start button twice and, I guess, set the machine for a delayed start. How do I reset it so that I can start it now? And it's (just now) set to the pots and pans (which is fine) and hot dry (which I don't like) and won't let me change the settings
Well, I tried that, I also tried cutting the power to the unit for 20-30 minutes hoping it would default and no joy. Finally, several hours later it let me start it. I sure wish I knew this machine better. Thanks!

Not having any more information, the simplest assumption (just a guess) is that you may have accidently hit the set up button. If you have an "exit" button try hitting that.
Hit the power button until there is NO display . Unplug and wait a minimum of 30 seconds , plug back in and within 30 seconds hit SIGNAL button then DELAY START button then SIGNAL button again then DELAY START button again. door should lock and display t01 It is now in test mode . There are 14 different test it can run through in this mode , but all we are trying to do is check for error codes now and maybe get you back to normal, So turn the knob one click clockwise and hit the START/PAUSE button and see if any error codes come up. To exit the diagnostic mode - hit signal button then delay start button then signal button then delay start button and you are out of service test mode and back to normal. Post any error codes.
Push and hold down the start button again. The machine will stop. Turn to Spin (to drain the water that burped into the machine when you turned it on by accident). Hit start, let the drain and spin cycle complete. Hit the key button and you're all set.
First I made sure the detergent dispenser door was closed. That did not work. Then i made sure that the dispenser was clean, by running water thru it. That did not work,. Then I turned the dial to hand wash and pushed the start button. That worked. Delay light did not turn on. Then i turned the setting to the proper wash cycle and pushed the start button. Clothes are being washed now.
usually pressing PAUSE/CANCEL twice cancels the cycle and shuts it off allowing you to then re-start the cycle. If not try unplugging it and see if it resets to allow you to start cycle again.
My Zanussi ZWG1120m is displaying fault code E60 and E62

Would your start button be stuck? check to see if there is something keeping it pressed in? if not your control star button could be shorted...let me know
