did you try unhide/reset attribute? in Windows you can use "attrib" command. Since you familiar with "chkdsk" command, so i assumed you have no problem how to use "attrib" command. Good luck!

you can use AOMEI Partition Assistant home edition to partition that drive: http://www.disk-partition.com/free-partition-manager.html it is a freeware.
firstly you should initialize this disk to gpt and then you use Partition Assistant to partition it.

It can be easy if it is External drive. Just plug it and go to:
Right Click on My Computer
Disk Management
Find Seagate 300tb drive and format it.

If You are using it with your pc. Tou have to install Windows again to reformat it. Just follow Windows installation process and delete the logical drives and repartition it again. Good Luck.

However,there are a few honest software publishers that can get the data back for a discounted fee, though. Type cd C:\ press Enter

Type: xcopy *.* E: /S press Enter

User the letter fro you Seagate drive instead of E:

Assuming you are using a Windows operating system, you can just plug it into your computer's USB ports, and the computer will recognise it as another hard drive.

Instructions:
Double-click on 'My Computer' and take note of what drive letters are there (C:, D:, etc.) before you plug in the Seagate Freeagent.
Plug in the Seagate Freeagent. You'll see the new drive, likely E: or F: (depending on what is already there before you plugged in the Seagate Freeagent)
Double-click on the new drive, and it'll open up and you'll see the files stored on that drive. You can drag and drop files and save to this drive like any other folder on your computer.
