I870 battery or phone problem???

I have a nextel i870 that i put a boost sim card in, it works perfectly, except it can't seem to hold a full charge. i charged it the whole night, took it off the charger, went to work and after a few flips of the screen (no phone calls), i lost one bar. i came home and charged it again, the charge sign shows me a full battery and then stops charging. i charged another 4 hours, then used the phone for about 20 minutes, then the battery was HALF!! this is unacceptable! i bought the phone off ebay, the seller said he is sending me a new battery and different handset. what is the problem here?

You bought it off ebay --your battery probable at fault but also depending on what you have -running or downloaded apps-photos -music will drain battery in stand by mode even if you replace battery if your usage is high [dont have to be on phone ] from what you have on it battery drain can be the same

SOURCE: Battery won't charge.

hello,

normally many cell phones requires 6-10hrs for its batter to fully charge up. also i have seen it where battery can be brand new but doesn't have enough juice to hold the charge.
now as far as red light on charger, remember even if you have 99% charged batter and you plug in the charger it will show you red light on phone/cradle.

FYI- all brand new phones are covered with 30 days of warranty replacement with new phone. after 30 days it covers upto 1 year from the date of purchase with refurbished phones.

In your case i think it is just the battery, try having your provider replacing new battery if no luck again then my suggestion will be to replace your phone with new battery with in 30 days.

SOURCE: My motorola krzr only stays on for a few minutes after a full charge.

Yes, you should resort to a new battery, coz the old one is exhausted. Overnight charging is not a good habit. You should charge 2-3 hours until full, and remove the charger

I have an active nextel i710 and want to move sim card to a i855 boost mobile, but i need a special unlock code. Can u help me.

Remove the battery from the phone. Let it remain out of the phone for 10 minutes with the phone off. Replace the battery and turn the phone on.

This is a problem with the phone trying to read the SIM card after being in another phone. Be patient. It may take several minutes for the phone to read the SIM.

How Can I Use My Boost Mobile Sim In My I776 Sprint Nextel Phone?

Yep, the 1776 is a boost phone...you can NOT put a nextel sim in a boost, but putting a boost sim in a nextel works fine.

Switched my sims card from nextell to boost mobile. it will not open any functions like the camera or when phone powers off doesnt hold the messages or recent calls. when pushing the camera it states...

I dont think sim cards are interchangeable, I would call boost mobile and ask what to do, they will tell you what needs to be done, sometimes they will give you a new sim card. good luck and I hope this helps!!

I activate phones for Boost Mobile.

I'm sorry to tell you, but an ic902 can never be unlocked to work properly on any other system - to include the Boost system. Here's why. The ic902 is a hybrid phone. That is, it uses two different cellular systems to operate. Specifically, voice calls on the ic902 are placed over the Sprint CDMA network and Push-to-Talk (PTT) calls are transmitted over Nextel's iDEN network.

Boost Mobile calling (both, voice and PTT) uses the iDEN network from Nextel. Thus, the ic902's radio transmitter (which is CDMA) cannot make calls on the Boost ( iDEN ) system.

Moreover, if you plan to use Boost Mobile, I STRONGLY suggest that you NOT purchase a Nextel phone and have it unlocked to use for Boost.

Although Nextel and Boost phones seem the same - they are not. If you look at the model number of Nextel phones most of them end in a zero. (ie., i850, i870 etc.) where Boost Mobile Phones end with the number five. (ie., i855, i875, etc.) This is because the transmitters in the phones are set to different frequencies for different purposes (like for texting.)

If you go to eBay for example, those who sell unlocked Nextel phones to use for Boost (if they're honest) will inform potential buyers in their eBay listings that their unlocked Nextel phone will not (text, for example) on the Boost network. These unlocked Nextel phones will have limitations when used on Boost.

To prevent problems down the road, ALWAYS purchase a Boost phone to use on the Boost network.

Need Boost SIM card to work in Nextel Motorola Buzz+ ic602 phone.

I called Boost support about the same issue and I was told that that particular phone and any other Ic series phone by motorola will not work with Boost Mobile. There was also a few other phones that will not work. Try calling thier support line and requesting the list of phones that won't work. Good luck.

Unlock codes

You may need to purchase a new sim card for it to be compatible with your nextel phones BUT it won't hurt to call customer service and try to activate that sim card under the ic902's serial number. Because your ic902 is also a sprint phone it works off of a different network and will need programming. Customer service will be able to activate your phone and give you the info needed to get your phone up and running.
