I have a Mitsubishi WD52525 and the lamp indicator turned red. I ordered a new lamp from Mitsubishi and was able to easily install it. I received the same result with the lamp indicator. I was able to see the old and new lamp turn on for a few seconds before going black before the indicator turned red. I sent the new lamp back to Mitsubishi and received my money back as it is supposedly defective. I'm wondering if I should try 1 more lamp or just consider the TV dead as I do not want to spend over $200 to fix a TV.
Thanks for any assistance

U restart the tv,u hear alots of clicking? That mean the Ballast is dead or have problems, that why ur picture lamp not sustaning the picture.Replacing the Ballast might or will sustance the picture.
did you use an original mitsbishi lamp. did it slide in easily? one of the most common problems with a lamp replaement is pushing the connector away from the lamp if it doesn't slide in easily. unplug the set, take out the lamp and look with a flashlight to see if the connector is in place. if so put the old lamp in and see if it works. if it does then your new one is bad. if it doesn't then email me [email protected] with your number and we can talk more.

usually with that model when you get a 34 eror code for lamp abnormality, its directly related to the capacitors on the Power Pwb. You can get the V26 Power PWB repair kit at the following link which repairs that issue. It contains the replacement High temp capacitors with the board location numbers and PWB identification as well as the service manual on CD. Heres the link its under their repair kit ctegory. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
We're under a service plan and had the guy out today. Same symptoms. He replaced the lamp and it didn't work and then called Mitsubishi. They said it is probably a very common capacitor problem on the power supply board. If you open the back and take a look you are likely to see bulging caps. Parts C9A37 and C9A38. The caps are cheap if you can find them, but the parts are really hard to find right now so Best Buy is actually replacing these for people under service plans rather than fixing them. You probably ignored the "warning signs" like we did and didn't think much of it when the TV said there was something blocking the air flow and the lamp was going to shut off. We now know this is a sign that the caps are getting too hot and need to shut down to cool off... Good luck! BTW, our guy said the repair will run you about $200 if you can't do it yourself.
I get the same red lamp led indicator, bought the lamp and I am unable to locate the lamp inside the tv, took the lower back panel out and don't see anything that i can make out the lamp housing. is hard to replace the capacitor and where is the power board located. thanks a mill.
