Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels. Use head cleaning before a test is taken . The roller had an ink spot it it which is transferring to the paper. clean the roller carefully with some rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth. then let it air dry for 30 minutes before using it. Have the printer unplugged while you do this and use a minimal amount of alcohol, just a damp cloth will do the job.
In this case I would suggest you to clean the cartridges of the printer.

Turn the printer on and lift the top cover.
After the ink cartridges have moved to the center of the printer, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
Remove the ink cartridges and place them wide side down on a piece of paper.
Prepare a clean, foam-rubber swab or a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.
Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of each cartridge.
Clean the copper-colored strip with the dampened swab or cloth. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate.
Clean the carriage contacts on the back wall of the ink cartridge carriage with a damp foam-rubber swab or lint-free cloth. Use a dry foam-rubber swab or a lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.

Using clean, moistened swabs, wipe the underside of each wall of the carriage where fibers may collect and come in contact with the paper. Repeat until no ink residue is seen on a clean swab.

Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
We've encountered several problem like this. Hope this gives an idea; I understand the cartridge will not moved back to park tray or flash ink tray back and forth because the return pick-up guide were not properly placed into each original position. It will block the ink tray moving back and forth. You can roll back the roller into the original place by removing the back cover if it has, then turn the pick-up roller slowly allowing the roller to turn and backed to its original position. Removed also remains of jammed paper pieces.
