Solutions to incorrect disk error c105 & c104

Dvd disk will not play in sansui player but will play on portable dvd player and computer, I tried copying the dvd in another format and the new dvd, when tried to play in sansui the error incorrect disk c104 came up, any idea what is causing this disk not to play, or can it be reformated someway to play in the sansui player which is hooked up to large tv.

yes, many other dvds play in this recorder, the dvd that does not play is a dvd-r disk, the disk I made a copy on was also a dvd-r disk, when I reformated this disk, the error changed from c105, to c104. Does this error have to do with write speeds, type of format?

the disk is compatible, and the region setting on the dvd is 1, which is the same as the player

Wrong. I have the same model and was playing a movie the day before, put in the same movie and got this disc error. Tried 10 other movies that I have previously played on this machine and same error. It is NOT the disc.

Hello gjbrokke,

First make sure the disc is compatible with the dvd player (CD-R+ , or CD-R - )

Second make sure the region code of the dvd you burned is compatible with the dvd region settings on your dvd player.

One of those two are preventing the disc from playing in your sansui player.

Sansui DVD Vcr combo wont play Dvd's model no. VrdVD4005

you will need to run a cleaning disk in it , if that won't work then it will have to be taken apart to clean the laser eye manually
which then if you can't do this then you will need to take it to a local repair shop where they can do it

I have a Sansui model VRDVD4005. When I put a DVD

I think you need to take it to the service center, because there's nothing that you can do all by your self. The problems starts from the optical lens/ laser pick up, replacing the lens could be necessary.

Cannot format a dvd-rw disc or record to the disc.

Unless you posted this question in the wrong category, you can't use the Sansui VRDVD4000 to record to DVD. It is a DVD player only, not a DVD burner. It will play and record VHS tapes, but with DVDs it will only play them.

To record to a DVD, you would need a DVD burner. Many modern computers include a DVD burner, so maybe either your computer or someone you know's computer has a DVD burner.

Receiving error "incorrect disk c104" The DVD is brand new and other older DVDS work fine

My best advice here is ether the disk was not written for your region or it was nto written correctly if its a burned disk or it is dirty with scuffs or scratches ether way if other disk is running great then this is pointing at the disk your working with here, Simply try this in another player to see what is ruled out here.

Could be a bad sign of a laser solder bubbles not formed right if you know what I am talking about you will know what I mean.

Won't play DVDs or CDs at all. Reads error code C-104.

To solve this Code 10 error, follow these instructions: NOTE: After removing these registry keys and rebooting, it may be necessary to reinstall any CD or DVD recording applications.

4)This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry.Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.
  • UpperFilters
  • LowerFilters
  • UpperFilters.bak
  • LowerFilters.bak
5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

Sansui dvd player wont play and dvd's... shows up as incorrect disc c104 error

Try cleaning the optics with one of those DVD cleaners.
When that probably doesn't work, you can hand clean the optics if you can figure out how to get at them. (easy on some, hard on others) If that doesn't work, it is prbably not worth going any farther
