On 230 volts you have 3 wires 2 are 115 volt and the third wire is ground. As long as you hook the ground wires together correctly the other wires don't matter. Usually the ground wire is either white or green. The black wires are hot (115 volts).

3 wire capacitors are usually supply ( Power in), start winding and run winding. If the wiring is mixed up, the compressor wont start. On some machines, the capacitor is a multi feed cap, which supplies power to the fan as well as the start winding of the compressor. I suggest you contact someone who can read a wiring diagram to determine which one you have. All Makes usually have a wiring diagram behind or near the cover plate where the electrical terminations are.

It doesn't make any difference if you only have two wires from the Air Conditioner. I would put red on Y and white on C ..... All the air conditioner needs is a 24 volt Common wire and a 24 volt Power wire to pull the compressor contactor in......

Hi my name is Luke and I bought a Ingersoll-Rand 7.5 compressor and won’t start. I noticed it has a wire not connected on the capacitors it’s a blue wire that reads t5 v3 there’s a capacitor with open prong before two start caps and another capacitor after the two start caps , at least that’s what it reads on caps unless they have been wired wrong , being that I would think the start up caps should be wired first from powers supply box , want to know where it went Before I went trying to change capacitors and there’s 5 here’s a pic

What color wire's ? There is a relay which is controlled by the ESC module (computer ) Electronic suspension control module . The relay supply's B+ power to the compressor . Under system click on suspension then under subsystem suspension controls will pop up on it's own . Click the search button then the blue link's . System can set DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Has hight sensors , control module ,relay etc.....

Your question is a bit unclear, but I assume you are asking how to wire the pressure switch in a piston compressor.

See the diagram, below.

You should have a wire from the L1 (first incoming main voltage) terminal to the pressure switch, and from the other pressure switch terminal back to the starter coil. You will also have a wire from L2 (second main voltage terminal) to the overload, and from the other overload terminal to the other side of the coil. In this arrangement, the motor starter coil must be rated at the SAME VOLTAGE as your incoming power.

This diagram works the same for single phase machines (they just don't have the third wire coming from the supply through the starter and overload to the motor.

If your machine has other safety controls (like a low oil switch), It can be wired in series with either the pressure switch or the overload.
