Emachines d725 Can emachines d725 be installed Windows 8 64-bit installation CD?

Usually a 64bit Quad or Dual Core will work with 7/8. If you get Windows 8.1 Version, it will work as a general rule.

it does not have a built in microphone, you ahve to install external one :)

Make sure it has power (ejects). Check Device Manager in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Right click My Computer > Manage. Select Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices. Now delete all DVD/CD-ROMs and reboot. Windows will say "New Hardware Found" and install. Check BIOS by pressing F key (correct F key is noted during boot) F2? and make sure BIOS see's the Optical Drive.

Ye s the past eleven years they all do have a mic installed. Look for a very small hole surrounding the keyboard for it will be inside there

download driver for your dvd... i hade simmiler problems with tsstcorp ..in my case i updated the firmware of device and it worked like charm... for audio try to install it from device manager.... with have disk...

It is possible that proper codec software is not installed on your computer to play dvd's. You can install it from this link http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_mega.htm

Also it is possible that the lens of the drive has gone bad to read dvd disks.Most all modern DVD players and drives actually have a dual element laser-diode, one side optimized for cd/cdr, the other optimized for dvd.
