John Deere x324 engine shutting down after running for 30+ minutes. Warning light of mower with a tank behind unit. What does this mean?

I never owned a Deer but most mowers that run that long before shutting down have a spindel whose bearings are bad and after running a while seize up causing the engine to overheat and shut down check for heat on the spindels after it shuts down next time

I have a Polaris ranger 2015 1000 series that will not shut down with the key.

Look on the fuel bowl of the carb to see if the solenoid valve is connected to the wire harness. You should be able to hear it click if it's working. Make sure the ignition switch stops power to it when you stop the engine.

Engine runs for about 30 seconds and shutdown like an electrical shutdown as opposed to a fuel related shutdown.

Mow for 30-60 min.mower shuts down. Sometimes you can mow all day.start goin up hills mower will shut down, about the second or 3rd trip.what's the problem?

Don't know what kind if engine you have but many have low oil shut down float switches inside the engine..when operating on hills or side if hills too long the oil will flow to the low side and the low oil switch will pick it up as low oil and shut it down..look for a small wire attached to the crankcase it most likely is that low oil switch..the next time this happens try disconnecting it and tape the end if the wire..try starting and run on the hill..it should not shut Down..just remember it is a safety switch to protect the engine from damage from low oil operation.try running the hills where the oil runs to the wire side of the engine..won't trick the low oil alert...Good luck..

2007 chevrolet impalahave a 07 impala runs great till ur rpm meter goes past 4000rpm then drops down to 0 runs bad after shut down engine for around 10 mins then runs good again check with scanner no

It needs a scanner on it to find the problem while driving it. Several things can cause this. At 4000 rpm's in park the ecm will suppress the engine. this would be the Neutral safety switch. So going from there, if not the switch, it could be wiring or a bad buffer in the ecm.

Why does 2000 s40 volvo turbo runs hot and the fan stays on after shut off

fans are designed to run on after you shut engine down as engine temperature rise after switching off . running hot could be caused by the top hose having gone soft when you rev the engine the water pump sucks the hose flat stopping the coolant flow or the radiator is blocked and need flushing out

Noise at shut down

The noise is caused by the engine running on after the ignition is shut off. It makes noise because the pistons are rattling in the cylinders from incorrect timing. This has nothing to do with the mechanical or electronic timing of the engine. The engine runs on either because of hot glowing carbon deposits in the cylinder head or because the engine was shut down when it was running too fast. Sometimes the carbon can be literally blown out by running the engine at high rpm for a short time. Put it in second gear and run it for a couple of miles on the highway. If this does not work the heads will have to be removed and the carbon cleaned out manually. The shut down when running too fast problem can be caused by the idle being set too high or by shutting the engine off before it has reached idle speed. If you can adjust the idle speed try reducing it. If not always hesitate before shutting the engine down to let it reach idle speed. Good Luck!

1998 gmc jimmy 4.3 vortec starts and runs but shuts down when reaching operating temperature.

Your fuel filter may be at it's life time and will need to be replaced. Start with the simple and replace that, the other thing also that would cause the engine to shut down would be a faulty oil pressure sending unit. What is the oil pressure on the dash when the engine shuts down. You need at least 8 PSI to have the engine stay running. Check your Fuel pressure at the shredder valve and you should be 62-65 PSI with the engine not running and fuel system energized, once the engine is running it should drop about 5PSI. The last thing that could cause this would be a bad ICM, once the ignition system heats up the ICM fails and the engine shuts down. A mentioned, start with the simple and replace the fuel filter and check your fuel pressure to ensure your fuel Sending unit has not gone bad and will need to be replaced. Good luck and keep me posted.
