The monitor is not turning on

When plugged in and turned on, the machine beeps once but the screen does not light up. We tried to follow the directions about holding down three keys but nothing turns on or lights up.

    Hi Nicole,

Did you ever find solution to your problem? I'm having the same trouble with my elliptical, after a couple of years of trouble free use. Thank you.

My 1 year old computer has a black screen but u can hear the computer running help....

Are you getting any beeps while your computer starts up or when it has already started? If yes, then refer to the following HP Support page to get details about different types of beeps and the respective issue they indicate:
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c02222922#N315
If you are not getting any beeps, you can start troubleshooting the issue by first checking the connectivity and performance of your monitor. To do this, refer to the steps below:
1)Make sure that your monitor has power and the power light on it turns On when power is supplied to the monitor. If the light stays Off, turn Off the power supply- unplug and plug the power cord- reseat the power adaptor connection on your monitor's end- turn On the power supply. If the monitor's light glows, see if the computer still shows the blank screen. If yes, follow the steps ahead.
2)If your monitor is of flat panel LCD type, unplug its power cord and wait for around 30 seconds so that the electronics in your monitor are reset. Now reconnect the cord and turn On the monitor.
3)If you are still facing the blank screen issue, disconnect all the connected devices to your computer except mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Also remove memory cards from card reader slots (if any) and thumb drives connected to your computer (if any).
4)If the above steps do not resolve your issue, you can try (if possible) to connect your monitor to another video cable (if it is detachable) for testing purpose.
If the issue still persists, you can refer to the HP Support links below to troubleshoot your issue:

Cdc-m computer will not come on the on light works case fans comes on but that is all

Do you mean that your computer does not turn on just casing light lit on and Fan runs only? What means new, memory and case?

If just lights on, fan runs but no image on monitor or blank screen, you should hear some kind of sound form inside of the CPU casing. This is called beep code. If you hear continuous beep or 3 same beep with same length, it means your motherboard is missing RAM, just connect it properly. If does not work or stop try a good RAM installing to see the result and plug your this RAM to a working machine that have the same kind of RAM.
If you hear one long beep with two short beep After PC switching on, or Two long beep with one short beep following - that means your Graphics card is not connected properly, or damaged or miss matching. If you do not have any beep code after switching on the machine, your motherboard may not have build in emergency speaker. Try to clear this things first. Please mention details of your computer with model number of your motherboard. Let me know updates.

My screen does not come on when computer is turned on.I have a samsung syncmaster 2253lw as my main screen and have had both operating in the past at the same time.

Please check your plug if it is plug in properly or firmly. Locate the switch and turn it on again. If stil persist, try to inspect whether cpu is beeping while turning on. If its beeping something is wrong in your cpu or monitor depending upon the beeps.

Remove the batteries and unplug for 30 seconds plug in and test. Unpluging and removing the batteries causes it to reset to defalt settings.

Monitor on emachines computer is black and the on/off light flickers screen will not come on

First make sure the power cord is plugged in both ends (in the wall and in the monitor).
When the computer is turned on, it should run a power on-self test and then beep. The monitor light should be green and then the Windows splash screen will display. If your computer starts up but the video fails, then the monitor light will turn yellow.
A monitor light that just flickers and goes off is probably an indication that the monitor has failed.
I usually try to hook up another monitor (borrow it from a friend) just to be sure that the computer is working.

T6524 Desktop will not come on

That could actually be tons of different things.

The first thing you want to start with is make sure that the cable from the computer to the monitor is plugged in.

After that, you want to make sure that the monitor is good. Try using either a different computer with that monitor or a different monitor with that computer.

If that doesn't fix it, let me know and we'll go from there.

Power On / No Boot

Is it POSTing? Do parts make noise and then theres a Beep? The beep means it finished the Power On Self Test. Once it posts then it will show splash screen or black screen with it testing hard drives disk drives etc.. If no post is the led lit that says A/C is connected? before you attempt to turn on? If no post and good ac to rear connector then you probably need a new motherboard.

Solid amber power light

Your Monitor is not connected properly
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/setup/wireless.mspx

Connecting Your Monitor
1. Turn off your computer and unplug the power cord.
2. Connect the white connector end of the DVI cable attached on the monitor to the connectors on the computer.
3. Connect the USB cable that was included with your monitor to the computer and the upstream USB connector on the monitor. Once this cable is connected to the computer and the monitor, you can use the USB downstream on the monitor.
4. Connect any USB devices.
5. Connect the power cord.
6. Turn on your monitor and computer. If you do not see an image, see Troubleshooting Your Monitor.

NOTE: The Monitor will display full screen in White, Black, Red, Green and Blue color rolling pattern on screen if the DVI cable is not connected. This self test pattern will be displayed continually when Monitor detects that DVI cable from Monitor to PC is not connected.

* Check connection integrity at both ends of the video cable.
* Ensure the monitor and computer are plugged in to a working electrical outlet.
* Ensure power button is depressed fully.
