Can't copy songs on to SD 2 gig Card in Sansa e250
I could only fit 356 songs on the device so I bought an additional 2 gb card which is now inserted in machine. I was told I couldupgrade this to maximum 4 gb when I bought it.
I have reformated the device as some of the songs werent playing correctly and wouldnt delete from the device. When I transferred the songs back on and tried to add others it still says memory full despite another 2 gig being installed in the device. It doesn't seem to be accessing or allowing me to add songs on the additional 2 gb. Specs in info are
Memory 1893, Free 13,
SD card 1936 Free 1936
Songs 356.
Also I don't have and pictures or video on this device so this is not taking up space. Any idea of how to fix the problem?
I already copy songs in the SD card but the device does not recognize it. To hear those I have to copy them in the device directly not in the additional card.
What would be the cause and the solution?I already copy songs in the SD card but the device does not recognize it. To hear those I have to copy them in the device directly not in the additional card.

The card shows up as a separate drive letter, remember that when the card is in the player, look for the second drive letter in My Computer and add the songs to it not the first; yes the card will show up in your library on the player only after you have unplugged it and restarted the player.

I believe you can fix it by going on the player, then to settings, then to USB mode, and switching it from MTP to MSC. If you're in MSC already and it fails to recognize, then I don't know. :(
I expected to find the new playlists on the SD card as a separate file to access and play. Instead the SD card songs show on up the Sansa menu simply added among the existing songs / artists stored in the Sansa. Its not a solution but they are there. Since using the SD card, my Sansa does databse refresh everytime it starts, whether SD card is in it or not.
I haven't tried this, but I see no reason it why it shouldn't work. I have used an 2gb expansion card in my Sansa and it works just fine. The only problem is it will only play music off of an SD card, no video. I guess this is only to much memory if you don't need it. Rough guess is that a 4gb will hold roughly 1000 songs. I would only go for the smaller sd card if there was a substantial price difference and you won't be needing the extra space.
There are different subscription levels - there are some that will allow playback, but not transfer to a protable device - must upgrade the subscription to solve.
According to what I've read, you can double the original memory, but no more than that, so the max you can have on a Sansa e250 would be 4 GB (2GB internal memory and 2GB external memory). I also read that the micro SD cards holds
music only-no video.
Go to the knowledge base on the Sansa site and find this (chances are you have an SDHC card in an incompatible unit):
Sansa e200 - verify the version of the player. To check, go to SETTINGS > INFO.
For 01.xx.xx firmware (e200 version 1) - up to 2GB microSD cards For 03.xx.xx firmware (e200 version 2) - up to 16GB microSDHC cards NOTE: Firmware is not interchangeable.
If Sansa e130 or 140 is version 1.x.x.10, SD card MUST be formatted as FAT (FAT16). Music files need to be on the root directory for better performance. I have a SD card (2 gig) formatted as FAT16 and the music plays good.
I was not able to upgrade my e130 to Version 2.0.0.1 Firmware.
Hope this helps
