I have the same problem and was told by the telephone helpdesk that the machine cannot copy double-sided to double-side. The duplexing referred to is copying 2 single-sided documents onto one single sheet on both sides....Like whoever does that! This is misleading on Xerox's part . Colin B.
It was the same problem. To enable drop down menu open "Device Option" tab where you will see list: Duplex Non Instaled Tray2 Not Installed Tray3 Not Installed ......... Just double click on "Duplex Not Installed" and it will changes on "Installed" and Double sides drop down menu become active.
The Canon MG5220 has a built-in auto duplexer and can print
2-sided documents. On a Mac, click print, and in the print dialog box
select Duplex Printing & Margins (drop down options below Printer
and Presets). Check the Duplex Priting box, and selected the Stapling
side. Then click Print. That's it!!
IF you have the optional duplex unit installed on your printer then when you go to print something, your printer setup screen should have a duplex/2 sided printing box you can check. This will be under printing preferences or properties. If you do NOT have the optional duplex option then you have to manually duplex. That means on say a 2 page document that you want 10 copies of you have to print 10 copies of page 1. Then take those 10 copies and place them back into the paper tray and print 10 copies of page 2 onto the backs of page 1.
Those are you 2 choices for duplex printing.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
This is normal. The cardstock is fed from the manual feed or bypass tray and when selected the duplex option goes away. Many manufacturers do this....meaning they do not allow duplexing from the bypass tray. For the same reason they do limit automatic duplexing to standard or near standard papers. Cardstock is specifically excluded from duplexing obviously due to it's thick nature and when duplexing the paper has to be turned over and go thru paper paths that are not suitable for thick paper. If you must make a 2 sided copy using cardstock you will have to run the sheet thru the machine 2 times, also known as manual duplex.
Hope this helps.
these machines have a duplex unit all machines this size does, now a duplex unit is where the paper double sides in the machine, like doing a double sided copy.
i know off some people think that a duplex unit is the DADF (document feeder).
If you copier has a booklet setting on it in the duplex. Page the front and back of the drivers license will appear on the same side of the page as well.
The duplexer is for 2 sided copies. You can take 2 single sided copies and make (duplex) them into 1 double sided copy. You can take double sided copies and make more double sided (2 sided) copies with the duplexer. You can also take double sided copies and make single sided copies. Hope this helps.
i have a duplex unit...
