SOURCE: hey , I want to install Chromecast to my pioneer pro-1110HD HDMI port 3 which was connected to DVD (mitsubishi DD-8030). My AV receiver is ONKYO tx-ds797. Now the problem is I got video from Chromecas

Hi there, keep in mind that the Chromecast audio will be delivered through the TV itself, so it does not matter what DVD or audio equipment you are using, so make sure that your TV's audio is turned up.

If you do want to route the audio through you amp, you will need to use the TV's audio out and feed that to your AV receiver to play through your big speakers.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need more help.

How can I connect my Emerson tv to my wifi?

I'd suggest buying a Google Chromecast. The hardware piece is a dongle you plug into the TV HDMI port. You then download the free Chromecast app to your wifi device (PC , tablet etc) and follow the setup instructions there, to allow the wifi to find the Chromecast dongle, which is a wifi receiver.

Then you can stream any content from the wifi device to the TV merely by selecting that HDMI input, and running Chromecast on the wifi device.

Can I get Chromecast to play thru my surround sound?

If your receiver has an HDMI input that you are connected to from an HDMI output of your TV; then yes you can listen to it in surround sound.
The HDMI input that you are using on your receiver must be designated as a TV input if it has the capability of being "assignable" in your receiver setup options; or otherwise just connected via HDMI on the rear or front panel of the chassis on TV inputs section.
Once the proper connections are confirmed, select your receiver input to TV. The TV output mode must be set to HDMI; or you will not get any sound or picture if that is the only connection. You'll have to refer to the receiver manual on how to do this if the output mode does not select automatically as I do not know what gear you are using.
If you have your speaker setup in a 5.0 or 5.1 setup; depending on the decoding capabilities of your receiver; you should be able to get audio through each channel in a variety of ways. Refer to your receiver manual for the decoding format compatibility. The decoding may also be performed by your TV as well.

Chromecast conversion

http://ww.jailbreakmodo.com/how-to-stream-any-video-format-from-chromecast-to-tv.html

If your TV has an HDMI input, you just plug the chromecast cable into it. If the TV does not an HDMI input, there are several types of adapters that convert the HDMI to whatever the TV input is. I could not locate your TV on the web to see what inputs the TV has, but if you do a search on the web for " HDMI adapters" , you'll find several types. You just need to match the adapter to whatever input type is on the TV. Possibly a place like Best Buy may have the adapter you need. I hope this helps.....

What video "input" sockets are on the side/back of your TV -- HMDI? S-Video? VGA ? Composite? Component? Coaxial?

What video "outputs" does your computer have -- HDMI? S-Video? VGA? Composite? Component? Coaxial?

Have you considered using a Google "ChromeCast" device -- it connects to a HDMI-input on your TV, and software on your PC wirelessly transmits the video signals from your computer to your wireless router to the wireless-receiver inside the ChromeCast ?

Denon AVR-488 , problems routing cable box through receiver to tv

If you don't have one, the manual is available online: http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/AVR-488-OM-E_101.pdf

Suggestions:

1. Reset to default values. Per page 36 of manual: 1. Turn off Power. 2. Press Power while simultaneously pressing Speaker A and Speaker B. 3. Once the display starts flashing at intervals of about 1 second, release the two buttons.

2. Make sure you have AM or FM radio reception. This makes sure your speakers, amps, etc are connected and working correctly.

3. Connect DVD player to HDMI 1 in and TV to HDMI Monitor Out.
Play a known good DVD that works when you connected the DVD directly to the TV via HDMI.

Select the DVD/HDP input on the receiver and play the DVD. You should not have to perform any input assignments, etc. It should just work, as HDMI1 is the default system setting for DVD.

4. If possible, obtain a STB with HDMI out & repeat step 3 using the HDMI2 TV/CBL input. Keeping the signal path all digital (HDMI) will give you a better picture quality than forcing several analog to digital conversions (component video is analog).

4A. To use the component connection, first test by connecting the STB directly to the TV via component video/audio if possible. This tests that the component video output of the STB is working correctly.

Next, remove direct connection and connect via receiver. Connect STB to receiver as shown on page 13 in manual. Connect component video output from STB to component video input #2 (tv/cbl) on receiver. Connect the STB audio output to the corresponding tv/cbl audio inputs.

Make sure nothing is connected to the HDMI2 input or to any other TV/CBL inputs (composite video, s-video, digital coax audio).

Now select the TV/CBL input and turn on the STB. You should have both audio & video.

No video

I am not sure if you have gone into the Receivers Menu or not? If you have NOT! Then please try this: Go into the Receivers Menu (If you do not see the MENU on the TV you can hook up a Composite (Yellow) Cable from the Receivers Monitor Out (Yellow) and select the Input on the TV that you plug into) Look in the Menu for Inputs or In/Out Config. or Video Setup. Look for the Input that you are using for that Device. Change the Video setting to HDMI. I also recommend doing this for you Audio as well. Find the Audio Inputs and MATCH each Input to there DEVICE and CABLE (Connection) Being used. Also check in the Receiver Menu for UPSCALE or UPSCALER. Turn this on or off to see if your TV is Compatible! Hope This Helps! P.S. Check the Manual for Upscaling Capabilities NOT all Receivers upscale and route the SAME!
