Diplomat dishwasher recirculating problems

My dishwasher won't spray water through the rotating arms. Water getting in, heating up and draining away OK. Have removed all the hoses and cleaned out, as it was long overdue, have run drain cleaner and boiling water through as well, makes no difference. When the water should be spraying through the arms you can hear the motor clicking, it seems to want to do something.

I live in an area with hard water. My spray arms get clogged with hard water deposits. Are you sure the spray arms are clear? Here's a map showing hard water areas in USA http://www.citriclean.net/why-citriclean/

SOURCE: Dishwasher will not spray water from arms

Check for utensils or pot handles that may be hanging below the bottom rack and interfering with motion of spray head.
Clean holes with toothpick.
Check temperature at hot water faucet with meat thermometer. If below 120°F (49°C), turn up thermostat on hot water heater.

SOURCE: dishwasher pump will drain but not force water into spray arms

If the washer is not used regularly the shaft can stick to the seals and prevent the motor from spinning. This happens quite regularly for me if I don't use the washer often. You can just take off the bottom panel - after shutting off power to the dishwasher - and access the motor. you should see some fins and then just try to spin the motor by hand. It usually takes about 90 degrees of rotation before the motor breaks free from the seal. You'll have to fight through the spring-like resistance created by the seal-shaft adhesion. After it breaks free the motor spins freely and you should be all set to go. I haven't found a more permanent fix for this other than running the dishwasher more regularly.

SOURCE: Neff Dishwasher won't drain

I've had this problem a couple of times with my dishwasher. In both cases, the cause was a shard of broken glass that had managed to get past the filters and jam itself underneath the impellor. Hard to see, but easy to fix. First ladle out the water.
Pull off the lower rotor arm, unscrew the filter and take out the filter bowl, tray and cylindrical filter. Get as much water as you can out of the filter cavity.
Then, using a Torx-20 driver, remove the screw holding the impellor cover and lift the cover off. (this is the small bit of plastic at the left end of the filter cavity.) Check whether the impellor can rotate freely by spinning it with your finger several times - if it jams or grinds, then there's probably something jammed under it. (It may seem to be fine at first, so do check thoroughly, as any debris can move around with the water flow and only jam occasionally) You may have to use a cocktail stick or similar to poke out anything that's stuck underneath.
Glass is a particular problem, since it's almost impossible to see when there's any water around (it's easy to cut yourself too!)

Anyway, that's worked twice for me now - and I didn't have to even move the machine out of its cupboard to fix it.
Hope that helps.

I found on my first dishwasher the arm holes were plugged. I had to clean out each and every hole with a small wire. They would not even turn until I cleaned them God luck.

Diplomat dishwasher spray arms not revolving

Typically the spray arms rotate from the water pressure coming out of the pump. The filter is clogged or the pump is worn out.

Have you tried tighten the spray arms? They may have come lose at the fittings so need to be tightened up. You can normally tighten them with your hand. Take any traps/filters out of the dishwasher and clean them.

There is only one motor -- it runs a water pump for recirculating the water when it's washing and runs a water pump when it's draining.

It sounds like the spray arm is making the noise -- this is the part thru which the motor / pump forces the water during the wash cycle -- the pumped water causes the arm to rotate -- a warn or loose spray arm or mount is likely the problem.

Or, it could be just some utensil stuck in the bottom of the dishwasher which the spray arm is rubbing.

More info, let me know.

Try rotating the spray arms by hand. It should rotate freely. If possible clean the arm rotating place by removing them.

Arms rotate by by pump pressure only. finally check the water pump also.

Cutlery on top tray is not cleaned - comes out with food still stuck here and there - rest of the content is clean

I had the same problem and fixed it by disassembling the lower spray arm and return filter, and cleaning all the junk out.
Most dishwashers have 'risers' that bring the water up to the top sprayer or arm located under the top rack. If the recirculating pump is plugged even a little there won't be enough volume or pressure to get the water up there.
Test this by putting a dry muffin pan in the top rack, flat, and running the dishwasher for a bit. If there is no water on the top (or the bottom) either the top sprayer or the sprayer arm underneath the top rack is not getting enough volume.
To fix this you need to clean out the screen and filter, where the water returns to be recirculated. If you don't have any confidence to remove the parts and clean it out yourself, get an appliance repair person to do the job.

Dishwasher fills with water but does nothing else.

If your dishwasher drains and fills as it should and cycles normally, there is a problem with the spray arm assembly or recirculation pump. Esure that the spray arm is not clogged. Manually free up moving parts if the assembly can be removed.

Give the spray arm a spin to make sure it rotates. It should spin freely. If not, remove plastic spray arm clip, flip it over, replace it, and try again. Make sure holes in the spray arm are clear of debris. Spray arm must be clean for it to spin. If spray arm does spin freely, remove spray arm clip, spray arm and the post assy (the thing the spray arm attaches to). Try your WikiFix again. This time add baking soda to the hole the post assy came from. Top it off with white vinegar. Leave it overnight. In the morning, stick your finger down the hole where the spray arm assy sat. You should feel a plastic thing. This is a propeller attached to the recirculation pump. You need to free it up. Get that thing moving with your pinky or a chopstick or whatever. Try the machine without the spray arm. You should get water blasting up from the hole. Reassemble the spray arm.

My Bosch dishwasher model #SHU43C05UC/14 drains well and has enough water(I replaced the inlet water valve already),but not washing the dishes clean especially the top rack. What could be wrong?

open machine when running and check both spray arms rotating - you will get a bit of water out. if spray arms not rotating, usual cause is debris in the arms. the spray arms only rotate by water jetting from angled jets at the end of the arms. take them out and make sure all debris removed
