Door bolts on a Sentry safe A3860 are stuck

Try changing the batteries first. No the electronic combo would not be erased unless someone previously changed the combination. There is probably something causing the bolts to not retract. The lock may fail if there is any pressure on the bolts and or the door of the safe. Hopefully this information helps.

Locksmiths agree that you have to unlock the safe just like when the door is shut and locked. Once you dial the sentry safe combination the handle will retract the bolts.

1. Insert a paper clip or pen point into
the small hole of the battery cover located
directly below the keypad. Push in while
sliding cover to the right (Fig. B).
2. Disconnect and remove battery holder.
• Insert 4 new AA batteries (not included)
to power this lock.
• Reconnect the battery holder and put back into proper
position. Slide battery cover back in place.
NOTE: The yellow LED will light when the batteries need
to be replaced.

As a locksmith it sounds like the safe is unlocked and the handle is broken. try turning it on it's side and dropping it this might retract the bolts.

A locksmith would try to replace the batteries. Sometimes you will get the green light but the batteries still will not have enough power to retract the latch.

do you have the manual i have the same problem but close and the manual is inside the safe is the original keycode but dont remember it

Remove the screw from the backside of the door.
