these txt messages are in fact being sent BY A PERSON, from a website. It's easy to send txt messages from a website, and would require that someone know your cell number, and that they are intentionally wanting to be annonymous!!! it's the new technology being used by people who know how to use it. You SHOULD also know that you should be able to log into your cell account online, and set your preferences to NOT receive emails from websites. I just did this myself, through Verizon!!! Works great.
you can try two things:
1. Check if that persons number is in blocked list in your mobile.
If not, then
2. Try deleting some messages or all messages and then check if you are receiving or not.
contact your cellular carrier to see about blocking it/ reporting it. If the person has been advised to not message you and continues to do so, depending on your location that may be considered harassment/stalking- in other words, don't erase the messages. You may need to speak to local law enforcement and they may need the messages there to build a case.
You need to add the number to your contacts and also add the name of the person. Then when a TXT comes in the phone checks the number against the contacts and if it finds a match it displays the name.
you cannot do this for free and i havnt heard of anyone anywere to be able to do this im sorry you will just have to ignore this is you find some one some were to do this let me know i would be really intrested

your problem cannot be solved manually. contact your service provider and tell him your problem.ig your service provider gives you the facility of blocking the messages from a specific number-you can blacklist the number and then you wont receive any messages from the number...
Several Solutions
1. If its only one or two people doing it, simply ask them to stop, if they do not, or its more than two people, move on to step two
2. Call 611, ask if they can disable the TXT Messaging for those numbers, if they cannot then, its doubtful that they can disable TXT completly, however still ask. but i dont think you can, i know i cant with my service. Also ask for a refund on the txt's youve received
3. If not, change your wife's number, i think 555-DONT-TXT will work :P, good luck
