My Dirt Devil Steam Cleaner was working fine & the next day not working at all. I use only distilled water in it. The tank heats up & I can hear what sounds like boiling water but no steam & the pad stays dry.

okay if your have one that looks like that picture for it the water goes in the white tank on the handle piece, if the water is not spraying i'm guessing your hoses are clogged, as this sometimes happens if that is the case, run some lime away through it but don't spray the limeaway on your carpet it will eat it just use it to rinse it out and clear it

I took the advice on the chat site and checked the tightness of the gaskets on the bottom. They were not secure. Once I fixed that all was well.

Hi Slatts51 I am having the same problem it worked wonders the first time I used it, now its doing the same thing as yours, I can hear it gurgling and sometimes it will emit steam but hardly like before, I think I might be switching to a different steam mop I contacted the company now it will take a few days for someone to contact me back, go figure.

I would like to show pictures but can't figure this out....yet. The answer is for the PD200100. When they put together the 2 pieces where the water goes through and heats up they did a sloppy job with the gasket sealer. I took mine apart and found that all the sealer that ran down inside where the water goes had come off and plugged the outgoing hole. I cleared all that stuff out and took off any remaining sealer where the water goes and routed out the holes a little bit bigger and put it back together and it works perfectly now. I am a woman (hear me roar lol) and if I can do it so can you! Remember - it's already not working. The worst possible thing that will happen is it still won't work. No loss. Throw it out. But if you tear it apart just remember where this and that went. Take pictures if you have to to make it easier. The best thing is it will work again, but this time it will keep working! Or get your hubby to do it. Repair time for a person who is doing it the first time @ 2 hours, and this is taking your sweet time to do it. Philips screw driver, exacto knife, small drill bit or a dremel with a drill bit (only needed if you want to make the hole a little bigger) a pair of needle nose (if you want to make the hole bigger because you have to take the clips off for the hose to come off) and patience. Good luck! Unfortunately they were made to break down quickly unless you fix it like I did.
