Sounds like your battery is toast, buy a new one from nintendo, or ebay.

did you try re-syncing it... i thiknk there is a button on the back of the wii-mote, benoeath the battery cover.. a little red button... that sync's it to your wii... try that and try taking out the battery for a few seconds.
try reconnecting your wii sensor bar to the wii...
i don't think you can overcharge it.. my girlfriends cousin leaves it on the charger 24-7 and it works fine.

you know mabey you should call Nintendo they're phone number is 1-800-255-3700 I had the same problem i called them they asked me wich kind it is. if anyones charger is made by Gigaware they can not help you.
