Thanks alot for your info it was very helpful. The reason why I wanted to know is because the cartridges look identical but the bulb is more bright and its an HD bulb in the 72. I was wondering if I put an HD bulb in my Epson 55. Will it be HD and have better quality picture. I believe that the only difference in these units except for the swivel and a few minor features is the HD bulb that they use in the 72. thanks again.

Hi I am Vortash .. I have just downloaded both manuals for these projectors from http://www.safemanuals.com and they look by all intensive purposes the same the part number is however one digit different ...on the 50 it is ELPL44/V13H010L44..on the 75 it is .
V13H010L43 .. so as you can see almost the same but different .. look in the manual and check the luminance and the specs if they are the same I should think the only difference is the carriage .. but it will be down to you to try it other than that give Epson a ring ask for support and I am sure they will help you ... Regards Vortash

Where is the epson moviemate 55 color wheel

Its in the optical engine near the lens. Any service to the color wheel would be a job for an authorized service technician.

Life of a bulb

Hello,

I too have an early P1 series Livingstation with a bulb that MAY be going out. I've been searching online and found several suppliers with prices ranging from $249 to $367. the Epson store seems to be the cheapest and probably most reliable supplier at $249 including shipping! http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/ProductQuickSpec.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=40809413&category=

The stated life of the bulb is 10,000 hours ... and I've had my LSP1 for perhaps 4 years. We use it kind of heavily - and I'd say we've used it roughly 30-40 hours a week... and over 4 years I'd say that equates to 200 weeks at 30-40 hours = 6000-8000 hours of use already. So, once I replace the current lamp - if the replacement works well... then I'll immediately buy a spare bulb. That will enable effective use for another 20,000 hours with the new replacement and spare. That hould last me about 9-11 more years for only $500 or so.... assuming I get 4.5-5.5 years of use per bulb.
