Is it possible that the leads going into or out of the leappad are dirty? I would try cleaning both connections with rubbing alcohol before connecting. If this does not work, then maybe you have a faulty adapter. You can have it checked, but I believe that you should take the leappad to the store with you, and try another adapter to be sure.
I saw the was posted while ago, I am having the same issue with my daughters LeapPad2. I contacted Leap Frog, but they would only offer me a free app upon purchase of a new LeapPad. Did you ever find a solution? Thanks
Hi JOHN, first try recalibrating it, instructions on how to do that are here:http://leapfrog.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2225 If calibration doesn't resolve the issue, you can reset the LeapPad with these steps: 1) Launch the LeapFrog Connect application 2) Press and hold down Ctrl + Shift + R 3) A pop up window will prompt you to connect the device you wish to reset 4) Power on and connect the LeapPad
