Sounds like a possible motor over heating. The main motor has a heat safety built in that shuts it off if it gets too hot. It will restart once it cools off some. Over heating could be from excessive lint around the motor or even from a blocked vent pipe. All you can do is clean it well and check again. If it still shuts off the motor will need replaced.
I would stop using the dryer immediately and get the problem look at: this indicates that a 'live' wire is making contact with your earth connection (which include the whole dryer metallic body) and causing your electrical breaker to trip.
In your case, the heating element might be faulty (possibly the insulation) and causing this 'short-circuit': very dangerous situation! Leaking water in the dryer can also cause this situation ... again a dangerous situation!
Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly.
if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....
If you have an electric dryer, you can have many differentthings that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

My dryer stops itself when it gets a bit hot in the motor after it has been going for a long time...then after it has cooled down it starts up again...there could be a build up of fluff around the motor?
you have bad gas coils.when the coils are starting to fail they work until they heat up and then stop working until they cool down and then they will work again, the dryer will work correctly for the first 15 to 30 minutes, then the coils will heat up and stop working not allowing the gas to come in, the gas coils are on top of the gas valve, remove the two phillips screws, remove the cover and change out the coils, easy repair.let me know how you make out.also next time you need help send the model number so whoever is helping you they can look up your machine.
The gas valve coils are closing the valve or the flame sensor is defective. The coils are the most common problem. There are 2 on top of the gas valve. Turn off the gas and power. Remove the front panel by opening the top lid and then remove the screws from inside the front panel in the top right and left corners.
My dryer stopped working during a cycle last night and won't start again. The light is no longer coming on either. The first thing I checked was the circuit breaker which was fine. Can anyone tell me other possibilities?
What is the anser
The auto defrost heat element is not working. When the ice buildup clogs the airflow the unit stops cooling. Once you unplug it and give it a chance to melt it works again. You need to have the defrost unit replaced.
