Cell phone sim card setup

I bought a phone from china, and it wont work on my T-mobile network. What can i do?

    i got the sim to unlock the password was 1234. but still nothing...the phone wont find a network... :-(

Did they tell you you the phone was going to be networked locked when you bought it?
there apparently is a sim lock in the phone so put you sim in slot #2 and use 1122
for the password.

    get another sim from a friend for another provider and see if it work with it.
    if not there could be something wrong with the phone.
    did you try the sim in both sim slots?
    and you should be using code 1122 not 1234

How to detect the sim card i put?
I guess your phone has not been unlocked yet. Unlocked phones do not have any specific carrier software and work with all GSM carriers. These include T-Mobile, Cingular and AAAA . Multi-band unlocked phones also will work with carriers in other countries.So I guess you need to unlock your phone so that u can enjoy in your country.

alot of guys that sell "unlocked " phones sell a regular network-specific phone but they'll include a universal unlock wafer-thin sim that fits in your phone between your sim card and the phone contacts. Look in the box ..if you still got it look for a plastic sd card sized container and see if there's one with you phone... if not you can get one on ebay for about ten bucks..

dear,
charge the phone with its own charger. dont use universal charger or other nokia mobile charger. china mobile have this problem. so charge the battery with the charger that came with it. hope ur problem will be solved.

hte thing is...ur phone is handset bundled offer phone..so til the validity ends on ur new sim card..the phone is designed to detect only new sim..so ucant change til validity ends...or u may approach any private local mobile repair shop..i wont cost u much..
