Dacor Oven F4 error message

I just replaced the control panel (circuit board) and the whole front "bezel" with the plastic touch panel. I am now getting an F4 error message which means "Open circuit in the oven temperature sensor." What does this mean and how do I fix it? Or do I finally call a technician. Thanks!

Hi. I recommend Checking the sensor wiring harness and harness connection between the oven sensor and oven control. Replace the oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

My oven is comimg up with the F4 fault message?

Hello Rose,
Hello,
The error code F4 are code that mean their is a problem with the oven tempature sensor and that sensor is uncappable of telling the control board what the temp. is in the oven. This is what the sensor looks like,oldtech2332_20.jpgTo check the sensor, unplug it and place meter leads into the white plastic plug at the end and check for between 1060-1100 ohms of resistiance when its good.

The F4 error code is for sensor that has a open circuit,so instead of the 1060-1100 of a good it the display on the meter will show infinate resistiance ( the meter display will not change)

If at room tempature when checking the oven sensor if the display shows anything other that 1060-1100 ohms the sensor is going to be the problem and needs to be replaced.

Repairing an (F2 E0 or F2 E1 error code) Failed Whirlpool Builtin Oven Keypad...

A replacement touchpad is now available from Ledgestone Technologies to replace various membrane keypad switches that are not available from the OEM.
These are in stock and can be shipped today from fixyourboard.
Find the full list of applicable models here:
Introducing the Ledgestone Technologies Touchpad
Step 1. Remove Original Plastic Bezel
BE SURE TO REMOVE POWER TO OVEN FIRST!

You are going to re-use the original plastic bezel. Remove the panel from your oven that contains the keypad and control board. Uplug the keypad from the control board. Remove the control board from the panel (4 screws).

Step 2. Remove Original Touchpad Membrane
With a heat gun, lightly heat the original keypad from the back of the panel. This will soften the adhesive. Gently but firmly push the old keypad off the bezel by pushing from the back of the panel on the keypad window. Carefully remove the original keypad membrane element. Most of the original adhesive should pull off with the keypad. Rub off any remaining adhesive.

Step 3. Install New Ledgestone Touchpad
Remove adhesive backing paper from the Ledgestone Technologies KP1308A1 Replacement Touchpad Membrane. Align and adhere new touchpad to recess in plastic bezel. Below are examples of black on black and gray on white. Gray also looks good on bisque or almond.

Step 4. Re-install Bezel on Oven
Re-attach control board to bezel, plug-in new keypad. Re-attach bezel to oven frame. Done!

F4 code Dacor oven

F4 means there is an open circuit in the Oven Temperature Sensor. Could be a bad sensor that needs replacing, cound be an issue with the wiring harness.

A test would be to short the sensor wire together at the sensor. the error code should change to F3. then you would know it is the sensor and not the harness.

My DACOR + ECS 130 covection oven light relay keeps clicking.....

I have the same problem and sent an e-mail to DACOR. A James Carlos responded and advised that DACOR could not provide DYI info because of liability problems, pure BS in my opinion. I've had problems with a DACOR microwave (manuf. by Sharp), my DACOR wall oven Model ECS103 and my DACOR Raised Vent system and told Mr. Carlos so. I don't know how to fix the blinking oven light other than cutting power at the circuit breaker panel or removing the two light bulbs which other have advised but suspect a new front control panel is required. If you find a fix, please advise me at [email protected]. I think DACOR products are overpriced and junk.

Dacor error codes

HI. the F-1 code is a System Watchdog Circuit failure code.

Press "Cancel", if beeping continues after 30 seconds, replace the main control board (also called clock or ERC).

Concerning the F-5 code. This is an oven temp sensor failure code. have it replaced asap. ((Check the wiring leading to and from the control and sensor for cracks and fouled structure. if the wiring is bad, replace the harness as well)),

PROBLEMS WITH FR ERROR MESSAGE APPEARING

Mewood What part did you call "thermostat"? If you?re talking about the device which operates the oven temperature, your oven does not have such thermostats. It has two oven temperature sensors (one in each oven) and a control board (ERC). An error code "F4" will be displayed along with a beeping sound if the ERC determines an open oven temperature sensor circuit. It can be the sensor itself or the wires that connect the sensor to the ERC. The F4 message will not be displayed in the time of day mode. To get access to an oven sensor and wires, the oven has to be removed from the cabinet. Then you have to remove the rear cover. Then unplug the oven sensor and check the resistance across the oven sensor. It?s supposed to be about 1100 ohms at room temperature. If the resistance is incorrect, the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. If not, check all the wires from the oven sensor to the ERC. If it is not the sensor and wires, you have to replace the ERC, but most likely the problem is with the wires and/or connections. Part number for ERC is 62965, part number for oven sensor is 62593. Gendos....post back.
