Dishwasher sometimes runs through it's whole cycle without a problem... other times it will stop and have the resume light flashing as if someone opened and closed the door without pressing the resume button. Once the resume button is pressed it continues it's cycle... it may run to the end or it may have the same problem again and again need to be restarted.

jamcdani Most likely the problem with your dish washer is bad key pad. It is not repairable and has to be replaced. Whirlpool does not sell it separate and you have to by the whole console assembly. The price range is between $95 and $115 (different colors) and it is not very complicated to replace it. will these units (silo and jtrip) start back on their own? if so, it is likely they are heating the water.
otherwise it sounds like a logic board, unless there is a defective door switch or sensor issue.
electronics seem to be a recurring problem with whirlpool.
i would ask whirlpool (electorlux) to either buy it back or fix it.

QuietGuard3: Clean light flashing 7 times? Press Heated Dry, press Normal Wash, then press Heated Dry again and press Normal Wash again (that's 4 button-presses) and that should fix it.

You will have to reset the console. To do this, close the door and press these buttons in sequence...
-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry
...all
the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic
cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2
minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.
START/RESET status indicator light flashing
You have pressed the indicator light flashing START/RESET pad while the START/RESET dishwasher is running. This will cancel the cycle. The light will stop flashing after the dishwasher drains (about 90 seconds).
• Press the pad once to start the dishwasher. Press the pad a second time when the dishwasher is running only if you wish to cancel the cycle.
Power to the dishwasher was turned off while a cycle was running and power has just been restored to the dishwasher. The blinking lights indicate that the dishwasher is draining the potential water inside.
• The light will stop flashing after the dishwasher drains. A new cycle will start automatically.
