We removed a broken element from the oven because it
wasn't working and then tried the stove top burners and
they will not work.
Carleen,
Thanks for the reply.
OK... I know this sounds odd and all... but all of the components (elements in the oven specifically) have to be installed and working correctly for the oven to operate properly.
Most people don't know this, but even when the oven is turned off and sitting there peacefully waiting for something to cook, there is STILL 120 Volts at one of the terminals on the element. Know what that means? That means that it is constantly (always) powered up! It also means that it is a necessary component involved in applying 220 volts to all the OTHER (cook top burners anyone?) components.
So... to take care of this and to bring you oven (and cook top) back to life, ya gotta go get yourself a new element and install it. OK?
Do you have the model number? If you do, give it to me and I'll look up the part number for you, deal?

Sorry for the delay in my response to you Carleen... tonight was the season finale' of 24 and, well... what can I say? (Is Jack gonna croak? Is the freckle faced FBI chick gonna beat the snot outta what's-his-name to uncover the truth of the deep conspiracy [thereby becoming like Jack?] ahhh!) Anyway... back to your oven.
The bake element part # is WB44K10005. The broil element # is WB44K10002 you can get these just about anywhere and they run about $50 each (I don't know which one you removed so I included both, OK?).

yes with power turned back on -
there is no new element, we just removed
broken one.
model #B525
OK, we'll replace the broken one.
Thanks a whole bunch.
I haven't had time to get the replacement until
today. (Microwaving everything.)
I hate sounding all "Captain Obvious", but after you replaced the element, did you turn the power back on at the breaker? If so, does the new element work but now the stove top doesn't?
