Use any disk except HP's Lightscribe one's.

It's time to replace that cd drive. Trying to repair a cd/dvd drive that is bad would cost more than getting a new one.

Try to play the cd that you have wrote with other machine if it was able to read with other machine then your dvd is faulty.

If it cannot play with other machine, then there is a problem with the software that you use in cd writing or the dvd rom drive. Try to re-install both drivers, then play a cds.

install original driver and install original and compatible software.

how did you use it? where you using your dvd rom when you were still in vista basic then upgraded it to vista ultimate? if so, probably you havent installed the drivers for your dvd rom after upgrading to ultimate.

i have dell vostro 1510 labtop < bought from SA 2 y ago, dvd rom not work, always rejected when inserted, also bluetooth and toutch pad not recognized, i use windows 7

i had the same problems so i updated the firmware for the cd/dvd drive and now its working perfectly
