If you're not experienced with troubleshooting and repairing electronics, I strongly suggest professional service. There are internal problems and most likely several components will need replacement.

Hi there.
Check for shorted speaker wires on left channel. If not, disconnect speaker wires and check to see if headphone jack works. If left works, you may have a blown speaker. If left still doesn't work, left power amp blown.

You can't wire an equalizer to this amp unless you only want to equalize one source, because it doesn't have a tape monitor function.

when you amplifier is powered on if the speakers are powered on and you hear that the output is switch on then it is possible that the fault of the amplifier is in the preamplifier.Open the set and check on the input of the amplifier with a signal . If there is output the fact is confirmed of the preamp stage. Now we have to confirm if the fault is in the source swtiching or the preamp equaliser/ tone section. Using a good signal tester and hoping that you are familiar to handle the electronics inside, the IC can be identified and changed. Use extreme care and test at low output, Use a help of an expert to signal trace the fault. Hope I could help. Good day

Connecting SONY TA-D505 amplifier LBT-D505

Hi David, do you want to connect the ST-D505 tuner to the TA-D505 amplifier?
You just have to connect an audio cable of two RCA (red and white) from the audio output L and R of the tuner ST-D505 to the input of Tuner in the amplifier TA-D505
Remember to connect the FM antennas and the AM Antenna Loop on the ST-D505 tuner
To listen to it, you have to select Tuner on the TA-D505 and enjoy the favorite radio stations

Hola David, quieres conectar el sintonizador ST-D505 al amplificador TA-D505?
Simplemente tienes que conectar un cable de audio de dos RCA(rojo y blanco) desde la salida de audio L y R del sintonizador ST-D505 a la entrada de Tuner en el amplificador TA-D505
Recuerda conectar las antenas de FM y la Loop Antena de AM en el sintonizador ST-D505
Para poder escucharlo, tienes que seleccionar Tuner en el TA-D505 y disfrutaras de las estaciones de radio preferidas

Need connecting wiring for sony am/fm jx 285 connecting to the sony stereo amp ta-ax 285

If you are trying to connect a ribbon cable tuner to a conventional RCA input terminal amplifier, it won't work because the ribbon cable carries the signal output as well as the data for frequency synthesis which is determined by the processor located in the amplifier ( that is supposed to work with that type of tuner), and the data buss for the buttons on the front of the tuner.

For the time and effort to put into a workaround, it is cheaper by far to get a tuner that will work with your amp. If cosmetics are not an issue, brand of tuner will not matter as their outputs are "Line Level" or nominally 1 volt peak to peak..

Would like to find replacement cables for old Sony Amplifier and CD player. I have model numbers, but when I search for parts I can't find pictures to be sure I am ordering an external cablel. Where can I...

The cables you requirea re not special in any way, they are just standard dual RCA cables. I assume that you are trying to connect hte output of hte CD player to either the CD or AUX input of the receiver, yes?

If not, please further describe what you are looking for. Neither service manual is available electronically, only on paper.

I have 2 questions will my SONY TA-E9000ES preamp work with my SONY STR-DG720 7.1 RECIVER and what SONY ES Amplifer was spefically made to work with the TA-E9000ES WHEN IT WAS ORIGANLY PRODUCED
