HI Heather,
Make sure you don't have the sound muted. Have you tried plugging in a set of headphones into the headphone jack? If you can hear sound with the headphones, most likely, the internal
speakers have failed. If you still can't hear any sound, the audio output stage on the
motherboard has failed. In either case, you will need to send the unit back for repair. Be sure to have your serial number handy. Register it online
https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/marketing/register.htm if you haven't already done so.

More Info: If you can hear sound through the speakers and don't want to send the unit back for repair, you can buy a FM transmitter at Best Buy - the kind that will allow you to play a portable CD player through your car stereo. Just plug the transmitter's audio input cable into your GPS headphone jack, power the transmitter with your car lighter jack, set the transmitter frequency to a unsued FM channel and tune your car stereo to tha same channel. You should hear your GPS through your FM stereo.
Good Luck,
- Jim
