so it is a connections problem I think. Check if video and audio cables are properly connected. Use color codes as your guide. Also from menu check if all settings are ok. Good luck
Ok, so first, you need to get the pictures to the TV.
So, you should have an HDMI lead from the Bluray to the TV.
You should have either an HDMI or SCART lead from the Virgin Box to the TV.
If you are going to play and DVD's from the Home Theater system, this too needs a scart to the TV, but if you are planning to use the bluray for all playing back, then this is not needed.
Next, you want to get the sound from all your equipment to the home theater system.
This where it can get confusing, as there are different types of leads that do the same thing.
If your TV has an 'Optical Out', and the Theater system has an 'Optical In' then you can connect the two with a Fibre-optic cable, and that means that anything then that you have on the screen, can have the sound through your surround sound.
Digital Coaxial In's/outs do the same thing, as do Phono In's/Outs, but phono cables will not carry 5.1 digital.
I hope this helps!
yes you need to connect audio out from the tv to audio in on the dvd surround. you need the red/white phono to phono leads, simply connect together and select audio (av,au) on the input selection.
look at the back of your tv does it have a audio out RCA jack? it should do plug in the surround sound into that using RCA cables
if your tv does not have audio out RCA jack then you can
get a adapter which makes scart connectors turn into RCA jacks get that off ebay
plug the yellow line to the tv and connect the red and white to suround sound but with this there are a few problems sound will only come out when surround sound is turned on and skys sound will never play out the tv if you switch to a PS3 or something it will not play suround sound
yuo best option is the RCA plugs in the back of the tv
because you have not written the model number of the tv or the suround sound i cant help any further
There is an optical output from your Virgin + box but there is no optical input in the Goomans, there is only 5.1 input. The only way to do it is to connect the re and white phono audio output from you virgin box to the red and white tv inputs on the goodmans, this will sound good but it will not give you dolby digital sound.
If your tv and surround has an optical input/output.Then you can connect with an optical lead. This will then play the sound from whatever you are watching. You normaly select dig1 or input1 on the surround system.
This depends on whether you have digital cable box or not. If you have a Digi Cable Box look for the red/white RCA output and connect this via RCA cable to the Red/White Audio input on your surround.
If just Basic Cable look for a red/white audio output on the back of your televison. connect this to the Red/white in on your surround. Could be called tv in or auxillary.
