This is a touchy subject for sony. basically sony has increased the brightness levels for the backlights to have better color tones in thier lcd's. well the downfall of this is the white spots you are experiencing. this is not a defect, you will never get them to go away, the only thing you can do is to turn the backlight and brightness down to reduce the white spots. if you contact sony, there is a software upgrade that will help reduce this issue...

My SAMSUNG DLP HLT5675SX TV seems to develop little black spots all over the screen and after a while these black spots become bright white spots. In fact if a non-used Input is selected and the screen is...

It is the chip that controls the millions of mirrors inside the tv. If they are black, they are stuck closed. If they are white, they are stuck open. I JUST had the same the same thing happen with mine. I bought it 3yr and 2 months ago and I had an extended warranty on it for 3 years. Well, needless to say, it was out of warranty and I was pissed. The store I bought it from suggested I call Samsung. Which, I did. They asked for the model number and told me that my model (hlt5675sx) was one of the ones that is covered becasue they had a problem with the chip. Within 2 weeks, my tv was fixed by a repairman who came to my house. It works perfectly, now and it didn't cost me a penny. Good luck.

Screen has white line that runs length of screen also has dark spots at bottom that looks like ink .

The white line is problem of the LCD's electronic. The spots are places where the liquid crystal is out of order of it's molecules, result of a shock and/or crack. Both problems cannot be fixed and the LCD screen have to be replaced. Take apart the lid and look the partnumber of the LCD on its back. Find replacement on ebay.

Dark spots on LCD screen

I hate to say it but what this is is contamination under the actual LCD glass. This propblem starts during the manufacturing process and can rear its ugly head over time or after running at high temperatures for long periods of time. It can also appear as dark 'tiger' stripes. There is nothing that can be done to repair this. If you have an extended warranty, the mfg should exchange the panel for you. If your warranty is up, take photos and contact Toshiba online and try to get them to cover this regardless. This is a mfg defect.

Dark spots on my JVC 61" tv

dark spot could be a faulty led. if you put a program on that is in white screen you should see all the leds light up the screen. dark spot will be were the led is not working. if on white screen and they all lite up but still dark around the area, it could be the lcd screen. and could be dying pixels. and try this video https://youtu.be/wlA2rcrAOCs
