The watch has a rechargeable power cell inside the cover. Remove the back, find the button batter, and replace it. It may be the old original or dead cell. Once you replace the cell, the watch will refresh and be back to normal. The only problem if that fails, the mini-computer brain died.

I have this seiko solar chronograph watch for one year and stop working, I tried to charge it with sun light with no success, any idea ?

Replace the battery, the solar part doesn't mean it charges from the sun it has to do with the movement of the arms (I'm not %100 what that means) I just know it doesn't charge by the sun or any other light source.

I can't get my watch to turn on. Do these need batteries?

You have three sources of energy.
Solar/Light energy: expose the watch to direct sunlight.
Battery: replace a spent battery with a fresh one.
Kinetic or Automatic: the watch gets its energy from the movements of the arm on which it is worn. . It must not be put in some drawer and forgotten.

How do I restart my Citizen calibre 9000, after it has been left in the dark for too long, thanks

Put your watch into direct sun light for a few days. This is what I did ... along with all the other things Citizen said to do. I eventually returned my watch to Citizen when everything failed to bring my watch back to life. You must try first ... then get a return authorization number from them if necessary. When I sent mine in for this warranty work, it was returned in a short time and running well.

When you are reaty, start the process here: http://www.citizenwatch.com/

How to a recharge a citizen eco drive silhouette ladies watch..model number sy2030-54E?

Do you mean, you haven't been wearing that watch but to put it in the drawer for a long time?
If so, to recharge the battery, just put your watch outside or anywhere it can catch the sun ray or day light. After few hours or about a day, the battery has been re-charged and your watch will work.
If it still doesn't work after doing that, buy a new watch. Don't bother to repair the watch or to replace the Eco-Drive battery, because of the cost.

Screen goes blank and it says chg in small letters on the right lower side

Actually, "chg" means "change" in this case. Since this is a solar watch, it is not necessary to change the battery. I let my watch sit in the dark for a few months and I came back to the same screen when I dug it out of a drawer. Simply allow the solar cells to get some light to recharge. I left the watch under a lamp overnight because I needed a stopwatch in the morning, and it was charged by the time I woke up. Also, this watch has a power saver function you can turn on and off. If the watch is left in the dark for about an hour, the screen will turn off but the normal functions will continue in order to save power..

My Casio tough solar watch refuses to charge. it is flashing chg only but will not charge with sun light. what should i do.

Your CASIO needs CAPACITOR replacement. Capacitor is the cell accumulating energy from any source of light. Go to your closest watch repair shop and ask to fix it. You do not need to visit any particular CASIO dealer. All capacitors/batteries can be exchanged at any watch repair shop. Rate me, plz.

Citizen Eco Drive

The Citizen Eco Drive watches use special recharchable batteries.
I started collecting a couple of watches and I noticed sometimes a jeweler replaces them with an ordinary battery. The watch will work and at the same time it will try to recharge this one until it explodes! In newer models they made it harder to use the non-rechargable ones by adding a special connector or clip to the rechargable battery types.
Okay, you stored your watch in a drawer as many people do? It may have lost the charge over time. First thing to try is to leave it on the window sill so the dial is in the sun. It will start ticking, but please leave it out there for 3 days to a week. The seconds hand will tick irregularly in steps of one and two seconds, to show you it wants you to readjust the time, as it knows it has lost time. Adjust the time and it should run smoothly.
The seconds hand should run in single second steps, if it takes steps regularly, but every 3 seconds or so, it tries to tell you that its power level is going down. It will be able to continue for one or two days, but you should get it into the sun more often.
Charging the battery under a lamp is possible, however this heats up the watch and this may reduce battery life.
If you need to know more about the Eco Drive, look for detail tech manuals for all types here: http://www.citizenwatch.com/downloads/tech/tech.htm
Those are great watches as long as you remember it needs light to charge. Be sure to ask the watch repair man if he knows the eco drive uses special battery, if not sure, find another watch repair man before he kills your watch ;)
