I have a Stoves 720 EF which failed when the cooling fan and resistor blew. New resistor and fan fitted but cooling fan only turns very slowly and resistor heats up immediately. Where do I look next?

Check how you wired the resistor. The resistor controls the speed of the fan. If its wired wrong, you will get the wrong speeds and the resistor will get very hot. Its normal for them to get warm but not so hot they start to burn. There should be a wiring diagram somewhere on the stove so you can check and confirm if one or more of the wires have been put on back to front.

Bosch oven cooling fan is continuously on at the same speed and is on always no matter what the temperature is. Upper heating element does not turn red hot in broil mode.

The oven has internal fan at back of oven encircling the element that should get reshot when stat turned up high. Also there is cooling fan under lid to keep the wiring area cool. This should stay on for around ten - fifteen minutes after cooking finished. David "The Famous Forry"

Cooling fan will not turn off, it has been on for 4 days.

this could simply be the TOC is stuck open, this is a thermostat which activates when a certain temperature is reached and the parts cost very little

Oven keeps turning off

It could be the overheat thermostats. These age and become unstable, especially if the oven cooling fan is not running or running slowly. It could also be that the ventilation holes allowing air into the cabinet/oven have become blocked, reducing the airflow for the cooling fan.

In cabinet oven cooling fan does not work

it is the cooling fan if you have already replaced the thermal fuse on the back then replace the fan also shop around that price for the fan sounds high

Hotpoint BD35 oven fan not working

The air you can hear blowing will be from the exterior cooling fan, and nothing to do with the main oven.
You need to check to seeif you have got a feed to the oven fan and element, the supply comes from the oven thermostat on the control panel.
Hope this helps.

COOLING FAN DOES NOT STOP AFTER HOURS

Hi I am Vortash the cooling fan must be controlled by a thermostat , it appears that it has a problem on it and is not shutting off .
They are usually normally open contact switches that are on the top or the side of the oven ,they heat up close the connection and turn the fan on . yours sounds as if it is sticking . Other ovens are controlled by a rheostat a long tubed thermostat that goes to a main control consul on the oven , it controls the fan and responds to what the stat tells it .
It may be this controller is not turning the fan off afterwards , my suggestion is that unless you are electrically trained you get the help of a service engineer to check your oven out .... regards Vortash

My oven turns off on me after only a minute never heating up fully

Could be caused by either of following;

1. Faulty thermostat.
2. Faulty thermal cut out switch. (controls power to cooling fan).
3. Faulty cooling fan (not fan inside oven).

Test thermostat by setting thermostat to low temperature like 60 oC. If oven gets much hotter then its a faulty thermostat.
To test cooling fan and thermal switch take oven out and remove top or rear panels to expose components.
When oven gets hot the cooling fan should turn on. If it doesn't then check to see if there is a mains voltage present.
If mains current exist but fan is not turning then replace fan. If mains voltage is not present then its the thermal switch.
