I have a sony amp (XM-2200GTX) I have it properly hooked up (4 gauge power to battery, Excellent ground, Good speaker wire, etc.). Here's the problem. The green light is on but I can not get any sound. I've tested the subs on another amp and they're fine. I've tested the head unit outputs, etc. Everything checks out and leads back to the amp. Again, the green light is on. It's never gone to red and yet I can not get any sound out of it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
Sony generally drives their power light from a source that does not rely on the amplifier's switching power supply. This means that it's not a good indicator as to the health of the amplifier. As long as you have B+ and remote voltage, it will light up. Since you've tested the speaker and the signal source, I think the amplifier is likely defective.
