The blade should have 3 locating 'lugs' 2 either side and 1 at the rear if any of these are broken then its a blade problem and you will have to buy a new blade.

My wahl chromado clippers will not hold a charge

Click the blade off, inside the front end there should be 2 screws, undo them and force the case halves apart from the front. Battery pack will need to come from Wahl, not normally available as a non genuine part.
