No one uses Universal Remotes these days. You buy a Facsimile Remote which is an exact copy of the original. No programming.

To repair your original remote, open the remote and remove the buttons sectio.(normally a solid piece of rubber with the buttons) On the PC board of the remote, clean with a scotchbrite scourer to revive the circuits and make it shiny. Next, clean the rubber button section on the inside with surgical spirits. Replace cover and fit new batteries.

Need remote code for this home theater. I have Sony RM-V210T universal remote but cannot set it up to work with dav s880. Only PLAY button is working...

Solution is to buy Sony original remote for DAV-FR10W system from Sony Accessories Store under following part number..
147869811 RM-SP350 REMOTE CONTROL

First you need a Comcast remote with the center button, OK/Select to be grey. Now program in code 1903 to aux. Works on my FR8 System, same basic as FR9. I was unable to get Comcast remote with red center, OK/Select, to work with any codes.

1903 will work for most functions, but not the DVD player buttons.
