This is most likely your Digital Processor Module. So far most all makes are selling them as a complete Light Engine Assembly which includes the light tunnel, digital module and color wheel. They are rather expensive, some are in the $800.00 range, a few more dollars and you have a new set.

I have an hlp4663w 46in dlp samsung. The problem is after turning on the set it runs for a few minutes and I loose the picture, but I still have sound. I can turn it off and then back on and the picture...

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30 seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire

Replaced the DLP bulb and the picture only worked for ten minutes

Hi,again,Thanks for the blessings. One quick way that works for most sets its to unplug the set wait 5 min and plug it back again. Here's instructions to replace the ballast: http://guides.fixyourdlp.com/samsung/bp47-00033a.php Found ballast here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/SAMSUNG-9137-008-08905-Lamp-Ballast-Driver-p/1139281.htm?Click=48173 Pay attention to other sounds like buzzing or whirling because it could also be the color wheel.God bless you and your house! Samsung HL-P4663W

Hi, this could be a bulb or the ballast as well. if it clicks a lot when trying to start up, this may be a bad ballast. if the start up clicks are normal(one or two clicks), this will be a power board issue that may become worse in the comings months.

Samsung 46" DLP

HLP, HCN HL-S The Start-up Problem or/and
3 LEDs in the front blinking.

Unplug the set, pull out the lamp module (not all the way - leave it on the track) and push it back in.

Power issues (Tv not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.
