HI,

u can try to reset the printer.

1
Take out the cartridges from the unit .
2
Make sure the unit is connected to the wall jack directly without any surge protector.
3
Unplug the power cord from the back of the unit ( without turning off the unit ) .
4
Now press the # and 6 key together , while holding these keys down plug in the power cord back into the unit .
5
Do not release the keys after a few seconds u will find te hp logo or bars moving across the screen .wait while the unit turns off.
6
after one minute turn on the prnter . it will go into alligment phase > let it finish .
7
after its done > try to make a copy .
Note - you can also try the Ok n cancel key combination in place of # and 6 .

SOURCE: Carriage Paper Jam in Photosmart hp c6180 all-in-one-printer

Here's what you do. Take a look at the photo below.
Open the cover of the printer, where the ink cartridges are located. Behind the ink cartridges is the carriage, which is a box that moves side-to-side on a pair of rails. It's the thing that sprays the ink onto the paper.

You have to reach in with your hand and slide this thing to the center. Then, look to the very sides, left and right, for any bits of paper. If you look at the second picture, you can see my finger pointing to a small bit of paper that tore of and got jammed into the side. See the little crumpled bit of paper? It's preventing the carriage from sliding all the way to the right. You could have little bits on the right or left side. I had to reach in with needle-nose pliers to grab the paper bits out, but maybe your fingers are small enough.

Once the little bits of paper were out, I was back in business. Good luck!

I am looking for a color access door for a print carriage on an hp psc2210 all in one printer. (C8654A)

  1. If you are putting in a new cartridge, make sure to remove the tape.
  2. Turn on the unit, then open the print carriage access door. The print carriage moves to the center of the unit.
  3. Fit the cartridge into the proper carriage.
    • The carriage with the gray latch is for the black ink cartridge (HP 56), or the optional photo cartridge (HP 58).
    • The carriage with the blue latch is for the tri-color cartridge (HP 57).
Slide the cartridge into the carriage at a slight angle, as shown in the illustration above. When the cartridge is fully inserted into the carriage, rock it upright.
  4. Hold the hinged flap of the latch out while lowering the latch.
  5. When the latch is fully lowered, release the hinged flap. It should catch under the tabs on the carriage, as shown in the illustration.
  6. Close the cartridge access door.
  7. The LCD display may indicate that the cartridges need to be aligned. Press Enter on the front panel. You may discard the alignment page that prints.
Remove cartridges
  1. Turn on the unit, then open the print carriage access door. The print carriage moves to the center of the unit.
  2. Press down lightly on the top of each ink cartridge latch and pull the lower section of the latch out to release the cartridge.
  3. Pull the cartridge out of the print carriage and relatch the empty print carriage. The print carriage may move to the right automatically, and if the latch is up, it could be damaged.

How do u remove old cartridge from printer

  • Turn on your HP Photosmart printer if it is not already on.

  • Reach under the access door handle at the front of the printer beneath the scanner and lift up on the scanner and door until the assembly locks into an open position, revealing the print carriage on the right side of the printer. If replacing a used cartridge, push down on the label of the cartridge to unlock it from the carriage and then lift it out of its slot.

  • Remove the new ink cartridge from its packaging--holding the cartridge by its plastic sides. Pull the pink tab covering the copper-colored contacts gently down and then remove the tape from the ink nozzles.

  • Align the cartridge at the front of the slot in the print carriage with the label on the cartridge pointing up. Push the cartridge into the slot until it clicks securely in place.

  • Close the access door by lowering it and the scanner back into position.

I can not open the access door to change print cartridges

Sounds to me like you have the carriage jam error...try following the suggestion for fixing that and see if that doesn't fix your problem. The most common problem is the sponge below the carriage is bunching up and you will have to straighten it out so that everything glides smoothly on the right side of the printer.
