Pan working
SOURCE: viking dishwasher has pan flood
There's a pan at the very bottom of the dishwasher (dw) that will catch water that overflows from the main dw compartment. This pan has a simple sensor in the exact middle of the pan that senses moisture and prevents the dw from running. You'll see an error code (one flash of two of the cycle lights, and also hear a set of beeps (at least on some dws)). To fix this, take off the front panel at the bottom of the dw and use a wetdry shop vac to suck out the water that is in the pan. Now the pan is dry, but the sensor is still wet. So you have to dry out the sensor. To do so, reverse the shop vac by putting the shopvac hose into the exhaust opening of the shop vac and blow air across the sensor to dry it out. It is a bit difficult to see the sensor, but it is in the exact center of the pan and has a red wire leading down to it. Once everything is blown dry, press the rinse/hold button for 10 seconds to reset the dw then try to run a wash cycle. If the dw still beeps at you, then the sensor is not dry enough, so you'll have to repeat that blow drying of the sensor.
