Kitchen aid mixer overheated

Most of the time this will not be an immediate problem. Let it cool down and do not over work it again. Continuing will eventually burn out your motor and require replacement.

The mixer would not come up to the speed when speed lever is moved from off position to any other speed provided. The mixer would start spinning and then stops immediately. Any suggestions?

You either need to adjust the speed control switch under the rear dome or you need to replace the switch, I think you can find on YouTube videos on how to adjust speed control switch and the part is easily available on the internet. AND!! you can do this repair without a full tear down.

Hobart A-200 mixer (OLD!) runs hot & shuts down.

You have killed it by overloading the bowl. Hobart recomends no more than 65% bowl capacity on doughs & 75% on batters or icings. Replace the motor or the whole unit

Knocking sound, pin loose

"Screws just fall out all the time, the world is an imperfect place." John Bender - The Breakfast Club.

I came across this site looking for the same answer. I tinkered with my KSM90 model and think I found the solution.

If the hinge pin is vibrating out of its slot, unplug the mixer and flip it upside down. (Removing the bowl makes it easier). You should see a screw centered over the hinge pin. Center the hinge pin and tighten the screw.

This should do it, although I tightened about every other screw on the machine before I found this one.
