SOURCE: My Dremel Versatip wont melt the solder - it gets

Christina, It's probably dirty, and dirt is lousy for transferring the heat from the tip to the solder. With the iron hot, wipe it on a wet rag. This should immediately remove the black crud and make the tip shiny. Keep a wet rag handy to do this often if you are soldering for more than a couple of minutes. If the crud is too bad, you can use a bit of soldering flux on the tip, then the wet rag. If that doesn't work, you can file the tip (easiest when it's cool) until you have copper showing all around the tip. Please vote if you found this helpful. Good luck, Al K

Dremel charger flashes green then goes out after 15 seconds. Won't hold charge. Why?

The flashing light indicates an error, possibly your battery is shot or malfunctioning. New battery needed.

Are Cordless heavy duty

I would not consider a cordless Dremel to be heavy duty. I have a corded one and I ca do a lot more with it than I would try with cordless.

Although I had only used my Dremel versatip once I am told it may not be holding the solder due to oxidization, how can I clean the tip of the iron

Clean it with some fine sandpaper and then dip it in flux. Then apply some solder to the tip again and it should b good to go.

Cordless dremel

you might think im crazy but I just did this and it works so far anyway, I cut open my charger for my dremel 7300 model ,my green charging light stop working aswell , I felt naked without my dremel, so after the fourth day I cut it open and tinkered with it, I unwrapped some of that blue tape that\'s covering the copper spool , forgive my terms I don\'t know the correct name anyway I found a lil clear device connecting two silver wires, I twisted them together by grabbing the clear thing and twist until wires are connected put back together , put a batt in and green light came on and is charging, my charger looks like frankenstien but it works, how long will it last NO IDEA but if it stops ill post it, if you try this I hope it works, I should have videoed myself maybe nextime

I just bought it 2 days ago and when i go to plug it in, it wont heat up. it was working fine this morning (10 hours ago)

If you just bought this two days ago it is still warrantied and would not be worth fixing it because you would void the warranty on it I would suggest bringing it back to where you bought it if you have any further questions message me back or if this is not warrantied message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situations Thanks again Rick

I can't find instructions for dremel versatip to change the heads how do you do this

The pdf manual is here: http://mdm.boschwebservices.com/MDMCache/English%20[US]/t10/0000000/r00554v-1.pdf
BUT it doesn't explain how to change the bits. If I remember correctly there is a grub screw near the tip that you loosen with a small flat blade screwdriver to change the tips. If your model is different then perhaps posting a picture would make it easier to give a better description.

Battery on my cordless dremel will not charge.

Dremel Stylus AC/DC Adapter 230/240V Transformer primary is open circuit any idea what the AC output of the transformer is. I should be the same for 110V input transformer. If I can find the output voltage from the transformer I can probably get a replacement

Versatip 2000 gas soldering iron wont turn on.

If it the Dremel Versatip then it isnt wired as it is run by gas. I had the same problem - turned out the pezoignition system had failed. Replaced under warranty. No questions.
