Stove will not turn off CHECK

Temperature Control Thermostat

If the oven won't turn off the oven thermostat is often the cause of the problem. The electrical contacts inside the oven thermostat can weld themselves together and then the oven won't turn off. If this happens, turn off power to the entire appliance at the household circuit breaker or fuse. The oven thermostat usually cannot be tested and must be replaced if defective.

Oven Control Board

The oven control board has a set of relays that turn on and off power to the bake and broil circuits according to the customer settings and sensor input. If the oven won't turn off it could be that one of the relays on the oven control board is shorted closed, providing voltage to the heating circuit. It can be dangerous if the oven won't turn off. Don't leave the oven unattended without turning off power to the oven.

Relay board:
Some ovens are equipped with a relay board. This circuit board has several relays which control the switching of electrical current to the oven heat source. If the oven won't turn off it may be that one or more of the relays on the relay board have failed. If this happens replace the relay board. The relays on the board are not sold separately. ALSO CHECK THE BAKE AND BROIL ELEMENT.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Wall Oven not working

It is likely the Thermal Cut-Off (TCO) fuse, which for many Whirlpool ovens is located on the back of the unit. Turn the circuit breaker for the oven OFF first. You'll need to remove the trim on the left and right side of the oven (2 screws) and then remove the screws holding the oven in the wall. You can locate it easy enough by looking for the thermal fuse on any of the major appliance part websites. The test is simple enough if you have an Ohm meter, as it will be an open circuit if it is blown. There is only one fuse (normally) so if it is blown neither the bake or broil element will work. There should be a Tech Sheet located behind the control panel which will help, but if you don't feel comfortable doing this call a service tech.

SOURCE: whirlpool accubake oven problem

I had the same problem and followed the process listed above....yes, I did unplug/turn off the circuit and am alive to share this update! Right off I noticed that the ribbon cable was loose. For those who have tinkered around with other electronics such as a PC, etc., note that this ribbon cable is not secured by the connector (atleast in my case). Reseated the cable and turned the power on. Voila- the bake option works. Tested it by turning it on for 20-30 seconds. Touched the bake element and got proof that it was working fine (via a singe of the ring finger ;-)).

About three minutes or so later, the display started to beep with an error code - E0 F2. A shorted keypad is what it stands for. The clock was still operable. I could still select the bake option, broil option, etc. Ran a test bake cycle but it turned off after a minute or so and started to display the E0 F2 code again.

Started the process all over ie turn power off, take panel off, reseat ribbon cable. Turn power on and test by holding the Cancel button for five seconds. Still displays the E0 F2 error. Waited for 10 minutes but this time no more beeping or error display. Ran a preheat cycle for 4+ minutes without any problems. The oven warms up and the bake element glows red. Hopefully, all is well. Will see what it does when we bake something the next time.

Thanks to PropHeadTwo and others for their contributions.

SOURCE: Broiler won't turn off. Error code F-3

The broiler won't turn off even when you press the "Off/cancel" button? It sounds like the broiler control relay is stuck shut. The F3 code means the oven temperature sensor has failed, this probably happened because the oven got too hot when the broiler was stuck on. There is fail-safe thermal fuse that will blow if the oven gets too hot, so the oven won't melt down but you should leave the unit off so you don't blow the fuse.

To fix the relay, you will have to replace the oven control module. I think this is about $200 and not too hard to replace if you are somewhat handy. The temperature sensor is also serviceable, you can find parts at Appliance Parts Pros on the web. Hopefully you haven't thrown the range out yet, let me know if you need further assistance.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gold Electric Oven F5 E1 code on bar code

For some reason I get the same error code every time we have a power outage. If you push and hold the "lower off" button for about ten or 15 seconds it will unlock and reset. Hope this helps.

Whirlpool built in electric oven

The upper element is for broiling and should not come on until you tell it broil. If it is coming on as soon as you turn on the breaker then it sounds like the printed circuit control board is bad. There is a relay on the board that engages when you program in the broiler. The relay can be hard to find and may not be removable. My broiler would come on when I programmed in the bake mode, go into runaway heat, put up a F10 code, and shut off. I could not clear it until I programmed in the clean mode for 2 hours. Now it works great.

Kenmore electrical oven

Trying to better define the problem....

Do you have any cuts, holes or "shorting" or tin-foil/aluminum around your bottom bake heat-element? If so, you may need to replace the baking Heat Element. (Ensure you do not use aluminum foil around your heat element to prevent your oven from getting dirty)

To replace your baking heat element, with power off; remove 2 screws securing the bake element. Slightly tug and pull towards you for about 3 inches or so and disconnect the connecting wires at each end. Then completely remove the heat element and install new in reverse manner. Whats' you're model number?

If you can gain access to the clock you could find the wires that goes to the bake element - if you can measure and confirm the resistance of the element chances you may have also fried the relay of the board - check it out

Broiler element not working

It's either the switch that supplys power to the broiler element or it's the element itself (probably the element itself). I'd go after that first as it's not that expensive.

It's not a thermostat because if it was, the bake element wouldn't work either. The broiler element is not supposed to come on except when in the broil mode or cleaning mode.
