My watch won't stay charged

It will run fine until I take it off, then it will last for about 30 to 45 minutes before stopping.

Your watch needs a new capacitor ( rechargeable battery of sorts) take it to a jeweller unless you have tools and know how.

I left my timex solar watch in my watch case too long - and it stopped working. How do I repower the watch. (I have had it out in sunlight for a couple of days).

I am thinking you need a new battery. It appears to be a battery operated watch that runs on solar power IF there is light.

How long will a Timex Solar watch last?
The solar movement functionality creates an environmentally-friendly and maintenance free timepiece that can be charged through indoor fluorescent light or outdoor sunlight. Once fully charged, the battery life can reach two months. If worn daily, there is very little chance the watch will stop.

Just purchased the men's Citizen's Eco Drive Nighthawk (Black) ca0295-58e and the second hand on the watch is not ticking. I previously set the date and the hour and minute hands have moved, but not much....

Put the watch in any form of light for some time. Sun is best but not necessary. When the second hand stops running, it is a sign that the capacitor is low. The eco drive is a solar powered watch. When exposed to light, it converts the energy from the light and stores it in an internal capacitor which is really a battery that will last about 20 years.

I think I've overwound the clock. I've tried on numerous occasions to restart it but after about half a minute it stops again. Could it need oiling or servicing?

There are two(2) basic solutions for this problem:

1. Carefully tapped on the watch, listening to it to make sure it is ticking. Do this until the watch has run long enough to wind down the spring, then it can run on its own, or

2. Take the watch to an reputable dealer and ask for an estimate on repairing the watch. The watch usually comes back running, with an estimate price that the watch needs cleaned.

The watch will stay running, but be VERY CAREFUL not to over wind it again!

E010 S95986 HSB power cell does not hold charge

Change the capacitor. This is the thing accumulating the energy. As the ordinary batteries, it may go bust, so, all you have to do is to replace it. There is no such a name as power cell in Citizen EcoDrive watches - there are CAPACITOR. Capacitor absorbs the energy from the light sensitive panel(s) and dispenses it in the ordinary battery manner. Advertisements are saying that you will never have to change the battery - that's right, because there are no batteries at all. Instead of battery there are CAPACITOR, but nobody says it will last forever. Rate me, plz.

Watch stopped while in hospital and now, although running again, has the second hand moving in two second intervals

Some Seiko kinetic watches and other self charging watches do this when the battery is low. If it relies on you moving to keep it charged that may explain why it stopped in hospital. Try giving it a good shake and see if it starts moving smoothly again

Seiko Kinetic that doesn't work

This watch does not have a battery, but has a capacitor which is rechargable. It is not taking a charge, and needs to be replaced. You should take it to a store with a watchmaker ON THE PREMISES. Or you could send it to: www.bscwatchrepair.com
