Ribbon hi need to get new ribbon for my sony cdx-m630 does eneyone no where can get one thanks

the cdx-m630 does not require a code. what seems to be the problem with the radio? it is possible it may have a bad flexible cable. without knowing the exact problem, it is impossible to say.

go to ebay and type in the model number of the unit and it will bring up some part that can fix the problem. i had the same problem and i just ordered the part. its actually a ribbon connector. im sure you just open up the radio and take the old one out and connect the new one up. this seems to be a common problem with this unit. the ribbon just starts to tear, and as it tears, you will start to lose functions on the stereo. i happen to like this stereo, so i decided to repair it. good luck with yours.

I have a few suggestions that may help. Have you checked the fuses?There is on on the stereo and one in the car's fuse box. Are all of theconnections from the wiring harness secure? Make sure these are tightand show no signs of damage, especially the ground connection. Also, ifthe face is detachable, check the connectors (on the face and thestereo) for damage or dirt or anything that would prevent a goodconnection. Pushing the reset button should not have prevented you fromoperation of the unit, so it has to be either an external fault (likewhat I described above) or an internal problem. How old is the CDplayer? If it is still under warranty, I would call Sony or go to theirwebsite and speak to one of their techs. Mine did the same...it will stop working all together soon...repace the ribbon you should be fine

possibaly the issue is the ribbon cable that connects the faceplate to the head deck i had the same issue

not open the face? or not get on the stereo? if not open the face maybe is too fit on the space for the stereo, check down if have space, if dont get on, check if are well conected
