Random shut off. Sounds like a relay click.

It sounds like your timeouts are set to do this.

You can check by right clicking in a blank area of the desktop. A display setup screen will pop up. Click on personalize and go through the items listed. In there, you will find a display setup parameter that will allow you to change this. You can also have it completely shut down your computer after a certain amount of time. This is great if you often walk away and forget to shut the thing off like I do.

Remove the battery and open the case. Look inside the computer with a flashlight to see if any of the capacitors are busted or leaking from corrosion. The capacitors look like little battery towers, but they are not as tall as the AA or AAA batteries.

If the capacitors are bad, your computer goes bunkers.

Sounds like you might need to replace the main board on the unit. Make certain you get the right one or it will not work. E-Bay might have one.

Sounds like it is overheating and then shutting down. Is the laptop on a hard surface or a lap or blanket? You need to have air circulation.

try ur windows disk,,put it in and go from there,,reformat if u have to,,or try sytem restore,,

Right Click on desktop--> Properties--> ScreenSaver-->Power--> Advanced
And from there U can set the things According to u

As it's rebooting try tapping the F8 key to get to safe mode. Choose Safe Mode with cmd prompt first. Once your pc starts enter the text chkdsk /f in the black DOS box and reboot. The laptop should go though a check disk and fix problems. May not completely repair your laptop, but it's a start.

Check the relay located on the compressor on the back of the unit. Sounds like the relay is not completely shutting down the compressor. Almost like it is still allowing electrical currents to get to the compressor

Maybe the setting of your video display was change to higher setting, and your screen cannot handle the said setting.

When a "safe mode" message appears during opeing, select that options, then at the desktop right click your mouse, chose properties, then setting, then change the screen resolution to lower range.
