you need a factory scan tool to program a key fob. only the Sedona and sorento could be programmed by jumping pins in the dlc with a paper clip.

There is probably a relay in the radio that releases when the power is off, but must be reset by turning the radio on when the ignition is switched back on.

Yes the 03 and up sorento has a keyless remote entry, You do not need to reset the ECU, you however need to reprogram the remote trasmitter to your car so they communicate, otherwise it will never work if you do not program it. You will need to take this to a kia dealership with the remote transmitter. They may or may not charge you for a fee. However I did had a remote, and it became damaged when my kid drop it in the fish tank. I was able to get it done at the dealship, 35 for the remote, and 50 for service fee.
