i also have a ryobi weed wacker. if it is the same. you don"t have to remove the button. line up the 2 arrows one on wheel with bumpy edges and one by the button. you should see 2 holes feed a 2-3 foot piece of line into the hole the line comes out of for cutting and it should come out of a curved holw on the bottom by the button .tuck the end into a small round hole . pull line tight (tug on the section that you cut with). wind the string by turn the ring around the button. til desired length. if this doesn't work. google you model # and look for a manual (manual for ryobi weed wacker model # ------------.)
